I called ahead before I left to make sure that being 2 minutes late to surrender an animal would be okay. I was told over the phone it wouldn’t be a problem but to get there as soon as possible. So I drove 40 minutes to get there only to be left waiting outside after being one minute and 30 seconds late. Nobody came to let me in, so I called to let them know I was outside and was told someone would be with me shortly. I wait for 15 minutes while holding a cat in a carrier surrounded by very loud dogs. I’m already upset about having to surrender an animal. Now I have to watch her be scared. I was told on the phone that I can wait until they “have time” to come to the door but it might be a while. I said that’s fine and so I continue waiting. Eventually, a kennel cleaner saw me crying outside and went to retrieve someone. A man came out and was extremely rude to me. Told me they close at 3 and that means they’re “not open” and that I need to leave. I explained that I was told over the phone being 2 minutes late would be fine, otherwise I wouldn’t have driven 40 minutes to get there. I asked if they could please honor their word. He said something like “I can’t comment on a conversation I wasn’t a part of. We are closed and that means we are not taking your animal today”. I know he said more mean things but I can’t even remember what he said because the whole conversation caught me off guard and left me in shock. Okay, so why didn’t anyone tell me that for the past HOUR I had been in contact with them? I was very pleasant to every person I spoke to, only to be met with a condescending conversation and an EXTREME lack of empathy. They had MANY chances to tell me they would not accept an animal 2 minutes late, which would not have been an issue, had they been honest with me. Let me be clear that I’m not upset they don’t take animals after close; I can absolutely understand that, which is why I called. I am upset with how they lied to me to avoid telling me no and then acted like I was in the wrong for doing what I was told. EVEN THEN, they could have just nicely explained that there was a miscommunication and they can’t accept the cat. Instead of simply being upset because of the surrender, I’m actually just left with more emotional turmoil from having to bring this cat back to my house, as well as a grown ass man yelling at me and treating me like I’m stupid for trying to do the right thing and for believing the employee that lied to me. How could you be so cruel to a teenage girl that’s already crying because of surrendering an animal?

I'm so happy I decided to walk into the shelter and adopt Tootsie, which I renamed Ruby. She has become my best little friend, and I love her so much! People here seem to really care about the animals here. Adoptable animals are all up to date on all shots, heartworm meds, and are fixed. I just recently moved to Panama City, and was in search of our forever furbaby. I came across Bentley's picture on the website back in January, and fell in love. When I adopted him, he had absolutely no training, hadn't been socialized with people or other animals really. He was definitely a handful, but I felt I was up for the challenge. I have constantly been working with him, and he's doing great! He now knows commands, loves hugs, kisses, and just recently was prepared enough to go socialize on the beach with people and other dogs! He has come so far, and is doing amazing! He's definitely my sidekick❤

We had to put our 12 YO Great Dane/Shepard down. Bay was very good with a bad situation. They are much less expensive than a vet for this service. RIP Charlie. We love you old man.

My dog had a case where a dog came onto him and that dog ended up biting someone. my dog was not aggressive what so ever. so they put my 1 year old puppy down for something he didnt do. and said he had a chance to find a home in 3 days but lied. when we tried to get him out they said they euthanized him on tuesday. it was on monday. and the lady that was on the phone was very rude. thanks for taking my baby.

We have adopted multiple pet's here through the year's, you can tell the staff truly cares about all of the animal's there and the animal's love them.

Release the TNR ! Reprimand these people that is inhumanly catching cats and leaving them in cages for hours to panic without food and water.i see the pictures with the poor cats with busted noses . This town has failed these poor animals.
Get people in there that actually loves animals not people that enjoy killing them. Have a heart
