I’ve been seeing Dr. Mike and Dr. Chad for many years. You cannot find better doctors in the area. There are so many reasons why I’m giving them this rating. The staff is wonderful, communications are excellent, they do what they say they are going to do, and you don’t wait for hours and hours to see them. You won’t find better fees. I would almost keep this rating to myself so that I can get appointments without competing with you. However, they are just so good that they deserve a 10 out of 5. Consider yourself lucky that I’m sharing this with you. I love my veterinarians.

I would leave zero stars if possible. My appoinment was at 7am I arrived at 7am my dog didn't get seen until 720am. I was told by the nurse taking my dog to the back they might have to take out 1 or 2 teeth. I told them I wanted to be notified first. She said she would call first.I was paying for a cleaning. Well they call me later saying they took out my dogs whole left side of his mouth. She said she wanted to take out all his teeth. I told them no because all his teeth where not rotten the ones on the left side were rotten because of an absess. His front teeth are not loose they just needed to be cleaned. I told them put the Dr on the phone. She hung up on me. I called him back Dr Michael said he would not take anymore teeth. He said he wanted to take out more I told him no then he said he was calling my husband me and my husband told him on 3 way to not take out anymore teeth. He said he only took out the left side.I told him repeatedly No, I DONT WANT YOU TAKING ANYMORE TEETH OUT. He gave me his Word he wouldn't take out anymore teeth. Dr Michael is ruthless and left my dog toothless. Without my permission. He is A LIAR. He charged over 1100. For a cleaning after he left my dog toothless. He left my dog with a couple of teeth on the right side. I wish I never brought my dog in. He lied to my face because he wanted to make more money off of pulling all my dogs teeth. He does what he wants to your pets even without your permission. He told me to smell my dogs teeth. He tried to gas light me and tell me he didn't pull out anymore so my dogs front teeth are all gone. He did it anyways he is a Liar who won't accept accountability when he knows he was told not to so something he went above and beyond against my wishes. He lacks integrity to say the least. He know me and my husband called him on 3way to tell him No more teeth to be extracted. He tried to still lie and say my husband gave him permission when he didn't because we were on 3 way both telling him Not to extract more teeth.

Love the doctors and staff. My dog has had both knees replaced here and they were by far the most affordable and qualified for the surgeries. All my fur babies are patients here and will not go any other place. Just know that they are in good hands!

Trust. Biggest compliment I think any vet could get. We have been taking all of our furbabies to Dr. O’Brien for YEARS! The staff and all the doctors are incredible! We had a Great Dane, Apollo, a few years ago who we lost suddenly (before getting these little crazy guys!) and I have never seen a team work so hard to save a “dogs” life. (Dog seems to not fit!) before we lost Apollo, we already had established a deep respect and trust with Dr. O’Brien, but afterwards the level of compassion and understanding during our loss was above and beyond what you would expect. Years on now, I would never trust my furbabies with ANYONE else. The whole facility is super clean! All appointments are kept, on time and always a great experience. Everyone is polite and fun! Couldn’t imagine TRUSTING my babies with anyone else.

Nice office! Beautiful reception area and they are quite busy. On the downside… they are most often too busy to be your go to Vet on a regular basis.

The office staff is a bit rude and usually confuses appointment times and struggles to get account information straight.

Prices range from seemingly expensive to fair. I wouldn’t mind paying the prices if the rest of the business was fully functional.

It is Modesto though… there aren’t many choices unfortunately.

* after the office booked me for the appointment, I showed up and they asked if I could come for the next day insisting I was incorrect.

As it turns out it was their mistake.

They offered to squeeze me in after I asked for a manager call back.

While waiting I wrote my honest opinion of the business based on today and past experiences trying to book with no available appointments.

When I was let in the Vet said thanks for the review… I chose to not further my involvement.

Instead of fixing the issue early.. they pressed the bad situation. They didn’t appreciate the honest middle of the road feedback.

The above is all completely true. They are very busy, they do have a very nice building and they earned a very honest review.

Update.

After posting this review, Beckwith Vet has sent me a letter severing ties due to my feedback.

They never accepted any responsibility for repeatedly trying to send me away for my appointment, pushing that I had made a mistake and should simply come back the next day. Had the office initially responded by apologizing that they had made a mistake and booked me for the wrong date… anyone would have reacted differently.

I had been taking my pets there for fifteen plus years I believe. The good news is that they might have more availability now!?‍♂️

My dog recently got TPLO surgery from Dr. Chad and everything went perfectly. Just a few months later my dog is 100% and back to playing ball again. Can't say enough about Beckwith, the staff and Dr's are always friendly and personable with us and are dogs. The treatment, prices and availability are the best around. If you can get in here as a new client you will be blessed

The Baker I am

My dog had a serious life-threatening illness. Dr. O'Brian Sr. was great, hands down. I love when a Dr. takes the time to thoroughly explain every detail of what's wrong, the treatment options, and how likely our chances are for recovery. So much better than some of our human Dr.s by far. He is very compassionate and understands that with a lot of people, our pets are like one of our family members. I've been going to him for the past 30 yrs. Now it's father and son working there. I haven't had the pleasure of having O'Brien Jr. care for any of my pets but everyone I've spoken to that has had him always said that he was good, a chip off the old block, following in his father's footsteps, no complaints. That's good because we need more vets like these 2

Would not see our dog because we adopted her and even though I had paperwork, that she had been vaccinated there when she was in the rescue, they turned us away in our hour of need.
