I took my healthy beautiful 1 1/2 year old baby girl cat in for a routine checkup exam, 48 hours later she’s dead

EDIT: After doing some research I have discovered that on Greg Hardy has received TWO MAXIMUM FINES from the California Veterinary Medical Board for violating MULTIPLE HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS as well as FAILING TO PROVIDE PROPER CARE FOR A SICK 9-WEEK OLD PUPPY WHO DIED LATER THAT DAY AFTER SHE WAS DISCHARGED WITH NO FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS FROM GREG AND THE HOSPITAL. Do what you want with this information but this is not someone you want to be taking care of your pets. I have learned this lesson the hard way.

I took my baby girl Calpico in for a standard exam. They were able to accommodate my requested appointment time with no issue. I took her in to get her vaccines updated and they also performed a standard stool sample test. They told me they found no stool and everything was good. A few hours later, she was pooping blood and I called them and immediately rushed back. They had lacerated her colon in doing a stool sample check. They kept her for a few hours and told me they’d call me when the bleeding had stopped. (They actually didn’t call me, I called them because it was near closing time and they told me she was ready to be picked up). When I returned, I waited for an additional hour and Calpico was finally returned to me, she seemed loopy and they said it was due to the gas that they gave her. I was told that she would heal in 2-3 days. The first 24 she just slept for the entire time which was not entirely unusual because other sources have stated that it can take up to 48 hours to fully recovery. On the 2nd day, she did seem marginally better in the morning but still very lethargic. Again, I attributed this to the gas that they had given her. Later that evening, she had seemed more lifeless which grew increasingly concerning so I immediately rushed her to the hospital but unfortunately it was too little too late. Calpico was pronounced dead that evening. The cause of death was sepsis, which was obviously attributed to the laceration on her colon. I felt that there was a massive miscommunication in describing her well-being and severity of her condition and I entirely blame Dr. Hardy and his staff for negligence of my cat's safety and well being. I cannot in good faith recommend that ANYONE takes their pets here. Please find somewhere else. I'm not sure if you guys actually read these but I hope that you guys understand the emotional distress this has caused me the past few days and the life that you have taken from me. My sweet princess is supposed to be here right now and you have stripped that joy from me. She was a perfectly healthy baby girl prior to the visit and now she is gone. Rest in peace Calpico, the happiness you brought me and many others will never be forgotten, I will miss you dearly.

They were able to get my cat in the same day when he suddenly started acting in pain. Eric did a great job during the dental they had to move things around to do later that afternoon. My cat has been a somewhat difficult client (not because of his attitude, but his problems are tricky and persistent) and everyone has shown him the greatest care, compassion and clearly genuinely cares about their patients! Everyone there, regardless of their role, is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. I appreciate their help so much!!

I was extremely satisfied with this place, the Tech Eric who worked with my dog Opie was very knowledgeable, explained every step as he was doing it to inform me, treated the dog kindly and gently. Had a great experience and will be going here moving forward. Their credit card company needs to word stuff better tho 😛 but that just shows their concern is the pets, I like where your heads at Best Friends Pet Hospital.

We are new patients at Best Friends Pet Hospital. Our cat, Molly, is shy and is not a people cat, she always gets upset when I take her to a vet. Not this place. The staff is great, kind and caring. We found a new veterinarian for all of our pets.

staff was nice, but the doctor could not be bothered to talk to us for more than two minutes for our two cats after suggesting $2,700 in treatments. we asked for him to just offer some advice on caring for our elderly cat before xray results and i overheard him say “i already talked to them.” we would have really liked some sort of advice explanation or any sense of care aside from just increasing our bill. we went in because the cats back legs seemed weak recently and he did not even take time to see the cat stand or walk, but was just told if i said he limps the doctor will believe me. two minutes to speak to someone and we spent two hours there. they also suggested blood work to test one of the cats health and then when speaking to the nurse they had urinary tests which did not even cover what issues we spoke to the doctor about. unfortunately felt like a huge waste of time and money when we really just needed some help. seems like a good place to get your dogs ears cleaned though.
