Not our normal vet but doctor Sugden took the time after hours to call us at home and give a second opinion on our dogs diagnosis. When it came time to put our girl to rest , we again had problems with our Rockford vet . We brought her here and we and our girl were treated with care and compassion. Felt like less of a business and more like a place of people that cared . Please don't change that .

11.7.2024... I keep going back. I wrote a novel and deleted. No point pissing off the only vet within 20 miles that is cheaper than the only other alternative. People are nice enough. Feel a little judged, but can't control their faces and attitudes.

Wish I could come inside, but they are very professional, and nice. A lot more expensive than u am used to paying but not everyone is like my former vet. All in all, my fur babies at well cared for and loved, which is all that matters. Well be using their services only from here forward. Their for making it first visit a positive one.

Very great clinic. They have helped with our dog, cat, and pig. They are honest and only charge you for what you need. Very thankful to have them for our animals!

Love these guys, went the extra mile and picked up my dog's sister and litter mate to be with my dying dog when she was out down while we were out of town. 24 hour emergency line with a vet on standby.

Blackhawk Veterinary Clinic takes care of your animals like they were your children, well mine are. I have an emotional support dog for my husband and a service dog that is retiring and new puppy that I would like to get training as replacment. I wish I could give this place a -100 star review. My childhood dog that I have had since I was 4 years old passed away about a month ago. I moved out of state a year ago and I wasn’t able to say goodbye so it made it extremely hard, also considering this was my only childhood dog and dog I have ever had in general. We made arrangements to have him cremated as we did with his brother when he passed. Paid in full and everything. Come to find out my Grandpa had tried to call a few times to see how much longer it would be, because he wanted to give it to me to have some sort of remembrance of him. They informed us that something happened with his ashes. Either got mixed together with a bunch of other dogs and they wouldn’t be able to give us anything. Neither of us care if we were to get our money back, I believe we did but that’s not the point. We just wanted something special to remember our sweet boy. The fact that a place like this could let this happen is awful. I really am not someone to ever post a bad review, but I am absolutely crushed by this. Would not recommend this place to anyone and I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else in the future.
