This vet office is absolute trash compared to Mountain Empire Animal Hospital. We brought our two cats just today and the vet technician was super awkward and unfriendly. The vet was not very thorough in examining our cats (and I would really like them to be especially if they're going to charge 55 dollars for each cat!) despite our concerns over our senior cat. They did testing which we did not even ask for (usually at Mountain Empire they ask before doing so as not everyone can afford to spend 400 dollars out of pocket for things they didn't even express interest in doing). Maybe I wouldn't have a problem when Mountain Empire said they'd charge essentially a 100 dollars less for senior blood work. 230 dollars for senior blood work? Are you serious? This place looks all dolled up and stuff probably cause they scam people to make an extra buck. My mistake for trying to get a second opinion after my poor cat died of a heart attack. They weren't even sympathetic and understanding when we mentioned that! Seriously, people, go to Mountain Empire they charge better rates and they care more over there. I bet if my cat died and Boones Creek Animal Hospital was my primary vet they wouldn't even do half of the things they do over there. And I bet they would've charged a couple hundred more! Poor customer service, poor rates, and just general lack of care for animals. I don't even know why they have such high ratings either. I guess all the rich people just go here and don't care how their money is spent? I will not be coming back here for our shots for our cats and check ups and such. I hope the black and red headed vet technician learns better customer service skills and the vet herself will definitely learn to be more thorough. We even brought paper work in and she said "oh" to our senior cat having arthritis. Just goes to show she didn't even do research on our senior cat before seeing him. That's bare minimum. Please listen people! Rich or not, Mountain Empire has better customer service and rates!!!

If I could give ZERO stars I would! I brought our dog in to be seen and they did absolutely nothing to help him. First, the tech told me she was taking him to the back to get his weight and temperature checked. I agreed and then proceeded to wait for about 20 minutes wondering why it would take so long for just a weight and temp check. The tech and the vet walk back in and apparently had already examined and done tests on our dog without consulting with us first. There was NO COMMUNICATION. They then proceed to tell me that there is nothing that they can do to help and that they cannot drain the swelling in my dog's face and apparently diagnosed him with cancer. I was completely blindsided with the care received. From the time we called to the end of our visit the office staff, techs, and vet were pushy about getting us out the door as soon as possible. We just wanted our dog to have some relief and to get taken care of and get back to the happy, healthy dog that he once was. I would NEVER recommend this vet clinic to anyone!!

I want to preface this review with I’ve taken my dogs to BCAH for more than 10 years and loved them up until now. I know we live in a world where inflation has hit an all time high, but some things are unnecessary. My oldest pup had to have a tumor removed and I knew the procedure would be pricy. Him being 11, I thought if $1,200 - $1,500 would give him 3-5 more years, it’d be worth every penny. We’ve had some complications and multiple visits since the surgery due to the diagnosis. And BCAH has been very accommodating. The prices of a simple anti-biotic were extremely high in my opinion. I can buy a 2 week anti-biotic at Walgreens cheaper than my dog’s anti-biotic. Same with the other two medicines they prescribed. Today was my breaking point. Went in to have staples removed, and they tried charging me $8.50 for 6-10 cotton balls soaked in antiseptic spray. Really?! I’ve spent nearly $2,000 in your office over the past 30 days and you try to charge me that for 6-10 cotton balls? I’ve stuck with BCAH through the rising prices over the past decade, but this incident may cause me to take my other pets to a different vet. I’ve never had a problem with the staff. Both vets and techs have always cared for my animals and been extremely accommodating, but they’re getting out of hand with their pricing. The National average for yearly vaccinations pricing is $170, BCAH is roughly $240.

Came in with my cat who had a blockage from a uti. They seen him and came in and exsplained the estimate for the procedure and they wanted 600$ deposit down and the rest at pick up. Told them I didn’t have 600$ and if they’d bring it down or even work a payment plan and they told me no and said they wouldn’t do the procedure to save my cats life without it. The lady with the trashy neck tattoos is making faces at me while we are all clearly upset and in tears cause they said my cats bladder is about to bust and will die if not fixed in the next few days but refused to treat him to save his life over money and tried to make me feel bad by saying that I should pretty much be ashamed that I don’t have 600$ to just throw at them out of the 1,300$ to save my cats life because I apparently can’t afford to take care of my cat like GREED is the only thing at this office and they should be ashamed to even say that I should put my cat down cause I can’t “ afford “ to take care of my cat. What a shame! Like this is a vet your supposed to take care and save animals not how much money you can get out of the procedure.

Update to my last review:
I found a vet that was willing to work me on a deposit and didn’t even mention putting down my cat for a treatable thing and let me put a deposit down in the amount I could afford atm till payday. Witch this place was all for treating my cat till they found out I didn’t have that 600$ down right then to save his life and refused to work me till I got paid that next week and then made it sound like it wasn’t treatable. I wonder how many other families this place had made feel this way and made them put down their loved fur baby while they were in an emotional state cause they didn’t have a large amount to put down immediately. My cat was treated by this vet we found and is thriving and living his best life. Go somewhere else that actually cares for your fur babys.

First time taking a pet to this vet. Our previous vet retired. My 10 month old gsd was not happy to be taken out of the room by a stranger. Instead of stressing her out, they came back and had me help get her on the scale. Because she was stressed the vet spent 45 minutes just talking to her and giving her tiny treats so earn her trust. When the time came for an ear swab & shots(after 45 minutes of trust building) they were amazing.
Yes it's pricey, but no more than any other vet in the area.
The time they took to let our pup feel comfortable was above and beyond what was expected. We will be using them for all the future care of our pets.

Photos of the good boys at the vet - I muzzle my dog for his and staff protection (:
We just moved to Tennessee, and I was nervous about finding a vet (having worked in the field) that would be good. We got REALLY lucky first try. We’ve been twice, once for routine vaccines and heartworm things, and once for what could have been an emergency. Both times everyone was SO nice. The hospital is immaculate, the front and back staff are all lovely, and the doctors are so nice. Their willingness to slow down and answer my questions is great. Not once did I feel rushed even tho I had about a million questions after moving from the west coast.

This isn’t a place that cares about your fur babies unless you have all the money upfront for a life saving procedure/visit. They have no payment plans for people that actually don’t have almost $500 to be seen. I lost my baby bc they wouldn’t see him without the money. Time didn’t warrant care credit or scratch pay. Sad.

Brought our kitty Milo for the first time today and the atmosphere is incredible. Everyone genuinely seems happy to be there. And Milo clearly felt right at home.
