Nice enough got us in to euthanize without an appointment. But our cat died of FISS (cancer) I haven't factored through it yet. A rabies shot in her tail Rather than the hip wouldn't have been a death sentence. I do miss that old cat

The staff here are accommodating, sociable, and knowledgeable. Dr.Bowen has a wonderful sense of humor and is a font of knowledge for beginning and experienced pet owners. Mary-Lee is helpful, kind, and always seems to remember me when I call to set up my pets newest appointment. Prices are very affordable and the level of care is excellent. Of note is their hours of operation in the morning are narrow so make sure you can get in before noon.

Dr. Bowen has been there every time one of my fur babies needed help. He has come in after hours and even done surgery on a Saturday for one of my dogs. It's not the newest place, but I've never had a problem with the staff or doctors. My babies have always been well cared for!

If I could give them a zero, I'd do it. In early 2012 (January I think) our dog (ver sweet Jack Russell) had swelling and tenderness on his back left leg/hindquarters. Our regular vet wasn't open on Saturday so we took him to Dr. Bowen's office. The woman poked and prodded, then decided to see if she could draw out any liquid. She poked our dog so hard he whined and looked back at us while my husband was holding him. Said it didn't look like what she expected and gave us antibiotics for him. We took him to our regular vet who did testing then referred us to a specialist in Greenville - they did surgery and found out it was cancer. He only lasted for 3 more months but during that time, his regular vet, the surgeon and the specialists never, ever hurt that dog! He never whined or shied away from anyone else! Bowen Veterinarian was the only one that hurt him. Then about 2 weeks ago, we had a stray cat get sick. Since they're fairly close and my vet of choice was closed (again - no choice), I called them, told them the cat's symptoms and asked what I should do. The woman said as long as I got there before 5:00, they could look at him. He was already in a large cage so I loaded it into the car and we arrived at around 4:40. Managed to get the cage and him inside, he was scared to death and hissed. Then the rabies talk started - well if he hasn't been vaccinated and bites or scratches, then we'll have to ship him off and be tested. I told them I'd had him with his brothers, sisters and momma in a mobile home for 4 months so there was no way he had rabies. About the 5th time of them stating that, I got irritated and asked them if they were listening to me. Dr. Bowen looked at him, said it was too late for them to do bloodwork and I should take him to the emergency hospital, which was what I had asked them when I called!!! By the time I got him to the emergency hospital, the emergency fee of $88 applied so they cost me that! They are absolutely worthless and if you can travel to another town, please use someone else!

Old Town country vet. Very friendly and therough. You can tell he wants the best for his customers. We have 5 dogs and he is our go to vet.

Called to ask about picking up Bravecta flea and tick medicine for our 3 dogs. They required a visit and exam for each dog before they would sell it!? BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE...Bravecta is a basic med, they are milking a customer for money. Sad.
