My bf and I have been happy with the care provided at Buffalo Grove Animal Hospital. We moved away from Buffalo Grove but drive back, just to have our animals seen at this clinic. Dr. Schaele is very knowledgeable and makes you feel comfortable asking questions. He doesn't rush through conversations with us, and ensures he is explaining everything as clearly as possible. We appreciate his support staff too. Our dog gets so excited when we approach the building, that he pulls on his leash to get inside as quickly as possible. The staff is very warm. We'll definitely continue bringing our pets to this clinic for all of their care. 5 stars.

Unfortunately our dog passed away due to the negligence noted at Buffalo Grove Animal Hospital. Our dog was having respiratory issues and we had brought her to the hospital where we told her issues were due to “aging”.

X-rays were performed that day and we were told that the results would be given the next business day. 4 business days later and our dog passed away which the vet had ruled in as congenital heart failure without any testing performed. My husband had brought our dog into the vet before she passed because she could not breathe but there was no sense of urgency and she passed away at the hospital with no help from any of the vets despite it being an emergency. The lack of communication and dismissive attitude ultimately led to a difficult grieving journey.

They offered paw prints for our dog which we opted for and stated they would contact us in one week once they were ready. 2 weeks later and I had to call with the hospital still unsure of the status. This has made our grieving prolonged. If you have an animal you love please be aware of the treatment we received and how it was dealt with.

I am not one to write negative reviews but this is unfortunately how the end of life service was dealt with and my trust has been completely lost with the company and with our future pets.

I am very used to veterinary staff being very timid of our American Pit Bull, and was very nervous for my dad to take him to Buffalo Grove Animal Hospital for the first time. When he got home he had nothing but great things to say about his experience there. From the minute he walked in our boy was welcomed with nothing but excitement and love from the receptionist, techs and doctors. You can really tell that each person there cares for every animal in their care. We were very hesitant upon reading reviews, but they have been nothing but great since the very first day. Would recommend to ANYBODY!!!! Love it here!!!

We have been clients of Dr Schaele and his staff for many years-they are AMAZING! I cannot recommend them highly enough! We have seen them for routine care, sick visits, urgent visits as well as end of life care and the entire staff could not be more compassionate and kind. They truly love animals and you can FEEL that when they are taking care of your pets. We have used this animal hospital for years, and have always had a great experience, even with our sometimes less-than-actively-participating large dogs! They are always very gentle with our anxious dog, which helps him feel better about the entire process. Prices are good and the doctors and staff are great.

WOW! WOW! WOW! That's all I can say. This place cares about your animals. We're first time cat owners and our little boy hurt his nose. We got in so quickly and they cared for him! Not to mention, every single person we spoke with here was lovely. They even called the next day to check up on our little boy. If you want quality care with quality people. COME HERE!! My Casper baby, partner and I thank the entire team at BG animal hospital. This will be our new vet!!

First pom haircut. Was so weird to see her groomed but we love it. Was worried her hair was gonna grow back weird but it grew out again just normal. Took her a second time and same quality. $68 for full groom fyi

Dr Shaele and his staff are Amazing!
They are caring and compassionate.
They were super caring when we had to euthanize are 16 year old dog and have provided the BEST care for our other 2 dogs! I wouldn’t take my pets to anyone else!!
