Was seen night for my 11 month old puppy who makes poor eating choices - he is a very nervous rescue who is uncomfortable with new people and settings and the team went above and beyond to try to make an exam comfortable to him! He ended up being fine and they were so gracious and didn't make us feel at all silly. It might not have been his favorite experience but they made it as tolerable as possible! Hoping he makes better decisions moving forward.

Our experience with BEVS was short but positive. We went in for an urgent visit with Dr. Sullivan last year following some significant and concerning GI distress in our 14yo dog and we were very satisfied with the quality of care, which was better than what we were getting from our regular corporate vet at the time. Dr. Sullivan was extremely informative both in person and in her email follow-up, taking the time to explain the rationale and the science behind her recommendations. She didn't upsell or push for anything beyond the necessary/practical. Everyone there was sweet and patient with our elderly dog. We would definitely return to BEVS again in an emergency.

This vet killed my dog by misdiagnosing him.

Originally, we took our dog, Max, to BEVS when he became very ill. The receptionist told us it would be a 4 hour wait and was very dismissive. We asked to speak to a vet technician at the very least. When the vet technician came out and looked at him, she said, "He's fine. You should take him to your vet in the morning."

The next morning, we brought Max to our vet, Green Mountain Animal Hospital. They performed a blood draw and IV hydration but could not properly diagnose the issue. They said he was in critical condition and referred us to BEVS.

When we arrived at BEVS for the second time, we waited a total of 7 hours while they performed a blood draw and a chest x-ray. Without the results from the blood draw or the chest x-ray, the vet at BEVS prescribed doxycycline and sent us home. She suspected it was a tick-borne illness but had no verifiable evidence.

We gave Max the doxycycline for a few days until we heard back from the vet who examined him at BEVS. She informed us that he did not have any tick-borne illnesses, but she claimed Max had pneumonia. She told us to cease giving Max the doxycycline and switch to two powerful and toxic antibiotics; the first one, Amoxicillin and the other, Clavacillin. Max responded very poorly to these medicines and became despondent, listless, and immobilized. He refused to eat or drink. During this time, BEVS would not answer our questions or let us speak to a vet about medication changes.

About four days later, Max died. Many medical professionals I have spoken with claim this was a misdiagnosis and could have been easily avoided. Max didn't have to die, and I hope you avoid this place at all costs.

We are very happy with the excellent care our dog received at BEVS. Our dog spent 6 days in the ICU and it was an extremely stressful time for us. The staff was kind and compassionate. Every day both the daytime and nighttime vets called us with updates. They were thorough and spent significant time answering our many questions. I have no doubt they saved our dog’s life. While I hope we will never require their services again, I am grateful to have them in our community.

If I could give more than 5 stars for our experience this weekend with the BEVS team, I would.
Our poor girl Lola was very sick Friday night and had no other options. We arrived and everyone was so friendly our whole visit from the front desk, techs, and veterinarian. They checked our girl out and ran the needed diagnostic tests and gave us many different options for comfort and financial standpoints. We were sent home and less than 6 hours later we were right back there with an even more sick girl. Again, we were greeted and treated with such compassion and professionalism and everyone loving on our girl as if she was their own. She did have to be admitted and great was the hardest decision to make, we were also given an option for the team to get together and try to come up with a take-home treatment plan, but we felt she was in the best hands. Anytime we called, they answered for an update and we received a call at every shift change from the Vet themselves and they explained everything clearly and gave us all options and explanations as needed. We picked up our girl this afternoon and I cannot say enough good things about how well they treated us and most importantly, our girl. She was so happy and not once afraid (she is a very timid girl) and she loved everyone she came in contact with. Thank you, BEVS for saving our Lola and for being so amazing!!

I brought my sick ferret to BEVS late in the evening last week and I was a mess. I knew that she was dying and that she needed to be put down. I had never been there before and I was a mess. Everyone was so nice and understanding and they gave me a private room to grieve and speak with the veterinarians who helped my pet find eternal peace. I am grateful for the staff.

Thank you BEVS for giving Cash the best care possible in an incredibly stressful situation. The care he received and the compassion we received as his humans was priceless. One of the nurses brought him out so we could give him some love before he went into surgery which was exactly what we (Cash included) all needed. We’re hoping for a full recovery and to not have to come back but are comforted to know we have such an incredible facility available for us if needed.

We ended up at BEVS when my elderly cat very suddenly lost his vision. Yes, we waited a long time and it cost much more than a regular vet, but that's the nature of an emergency service. Everyone from reception to the doctor was kind and caring, and after a week of medication, my cat regained his vision. You are truly miracle workers, and I am so grateful for what you do.
