I have been coming here for many years with multiple animals. I trust Dr. Maizel completely.
My current dog, Logan, is reactive to other dogs. I especially appreciate the care they took in getting us in and out safely. They made sure there were no other people in the waiting room when we went in. When it was time to leave, the reception area was full of pets and their humans. One of the young men took us out a side door and walked us to the car, as I also had a carrier with my cat inside. The less drama, the better for me!

Dr.Maizel has been my vet for over 8 years. He has consistently been my rock when it comes to caring for my fur babies. I have 3 dogs who have all had different issues at different times. Maizel has calmed me down on numerous occasions and am so grateful for his practice. My youngest, who has had disc disease since she was a pup is now living her best life in wheels with her brother and sister. I trusted him and you should too! Sometimes a humans need for full recovery isn’t in the animals best interest and he always has their best interest in mind. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. My happy healthy pups love him too ❤️

I absolutely love Dr Maziel and the staff, he's been taking care of my babies for many years they are loving, knowledgeable, caring and I wouldn't take my babies anywhere else!

Although we were there for a terrible circumstance, we had a great experience with them, they were kind and calm and explained everything clearly, even though I was going crazy. Park lane animal was my original vet but after they told me I couldn’t come in after I called 3 times and said it was an emergency. I tried Candlewood and they let me come right down. May my baby boy kitty live on through all they eyes that graze this post. He was the best cat I ever had.

Finding the right vet is not just the dr, but the staff as well. Every person at Candlewood seems to care about our pets, and so many times they've gone above expectations.
Dr. Maize is one of the kindest, gentlest, most understanding people. From welcoming a new pet of ours, to helping one cross "the bridge", he shoes how much he cares.
Dr. Bakewell is through, and committed to finding answers to helping our animals. She is very considerate and caring.
I consider Candkewood Animal Hospital the best Vet office in NW Connecticut

The staff was great. So thankful that they could squeeze in an out of town pup who had an unexpected injury! They were willing to double book an appointment on their surgery day and my furry child Gabby and I are so grateful! She is doing much better. THANK YOU!!
