Clayton animal shelter was amazing! We went to adopt a kitty and the staff was so kind and patient with our process. They knew each cat’s temperament and history. They were able to tell us which kitties would be a good fit for us based on what we were looking for. The cats get to roam free and play in the cat area (as long as they are vetted). The kitty we chose was immediately comfortable exploring our home and loves meeting new people - I think this shows how well she was treated in her first weeks/months in the shelter. When we visited the shelter, their online website was not updated - they had way more kittens and cats than shown. So don’t be deterred if you don’t see many kitty’s on their website - there were a ton there! The cats also come vaccinated and neutered/spayed and any (known) health concerns are relayed to you before adoption. Highly recommend.

We came to adopt a kitty and everyone was so welcoming! The staff were amazing and they took the time to tell us everything we needed to know about each cat and their different personalities. The adoption process was quick and easy. We were able to take our new addition home the same day. Would definitely recommend this place if anyone is considering adoption. 5 stars!! ?

My boyfriend and I were in town and were pleasantly surprised by what Clayton County Humane had to offer. They have professional staff, offer simple adoption procedures and have some of the sweetest animals around!

Great Selection:
We checked online but found they have many cats to offer on site (they have many cats of all ages and sizes). The pets there are so deserving of a home & they all come litter trained, spayed/neutered, all shots & microchipped.

Easy Adoption & Great Staff:
The adoption process was simple with great staff who guided us & answered any questions we had about the cats. The staff is extremely attentive to each animal and truly show their care for these animals & where pets are homed. We heard back between 48-72 hours after visiting & filling out an application on our cats. Upon picking up the cats we applied for we were treated to a limited time discount (25% off because we adopted two), some extra food (soft & dry), all documentation, and some new cat toys for our kitties.

We strongly recommend Clayton County Humane for all your adoption needs. Thank you to everyone at the Humane Society!

clayton county humane society is absolutely incredible! I adopted my sweet marjorie, formerly maize, back in february of this year and the entire experience was perfect. the staff and volunteers are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and have so much compassion for the animals they care for. I know my sweet kitty was in great hands with them before I adopted her! she is the sweetest, cuddliest baby who just celebrated her 3rd birthday (and very first birthday in her forever home!!) back in september! I have no regrets with choosing this shelter when I decided to adopt, and know when it’s time to find a kitty sibling for marjorie, CCHS will be the first place I look. thank you CCHS for what you do!!

Do not get CCHS confused with Clayton County Animal Control. Clayton County Animal Control is THE WORST but CCHS is the BEST!

CCHS made our Christmas! We adopted two really sweet, beautiful, and playful cats. The process was very easy and the Director, Ashley is such a hard worker and very nice person. She really goes ABOVE AND BEYOND....not only for the animal at the shelter but also for the people who want to adopt!
CCHS made it possible for us to enjoy our pets for the holidays. Our two male cats (Luke and Yoda) has been the sweetest joy of our household this Christmas. They are loving, silly, awesome male cats that are little under a year. Luke and Yoda adapted into our household as if they were already part of the family.
I am very grateful for all of the help from CCHS and the staff! Please donate this facility (pillows, blankets, pet supplies and food, or office supplies) as they are a non-profit that is not affiliated with the state! HELP SUPPORT CCHS as they really take care of abandoned animals and help set them up in forever homes. Can't express enough how happy we are with our pets and how wonderful the staff was through out the whole process!

My boyfriend and I decided to take a leap and adopt a furry friend into our family. We went to the Clayton County Humane Society and they were so welcoming and helpful. You can tell they care for each and everyone of these pets just by the way they interact with those that work or volunteer there. We were able to adopt our first baby, Chip, with them. The process was easy and fast for us and they helped and guided us on next steps. If we ever decide to add another friend into our family, we will be sure to go to them! Thank you all so much for everything!

Adopted a sweet chihuahua puppy mutt mix and she is the sweetest! This place makes the most with what they have and the animals were all clean, their crates were clean as well as the floors. Everyone I interacted with were nothing but polite and helpful! These animals come from all walks of life but no matter where they started, they are loved by April and her staff of employees and volunteers!
