Took our dog here a week ago due to a lump under her eye & a little sore on her leg.. They took blood, ran tests & $650 later NO answers.. within a day her eye looked much better (on its own) she seemed completely fine. 3 days ago my girl stopped eating, appeared to be not feeling well, we kept a close eye on her for the next couple days, but sadly today when we woke up, she had blood shot eyes, still no appetite, she appeared to be feeling very ill, unable to make it outside to go pee, it was VERY obvious our dog was sick.. made an appt in the morning to have her checked.. the vet here didn’t even check her, basically looked at her & gave us a referral to an animal eye doctor an hour away (yes a referral which would probably take several days if not weeks to have my dog seen, when we were obviously there for an emergency).. It is very disturbing that I brought in a very very sick & suffering animal & they sent us away, passed us off to someone else, because they didn’t want to deal with it, nor didn’t care! 3 hours after being turned away from this vet, our girl passed away ? DO NOT TAKE YOUR FURBABIES HERE!!! We were sent on our way in a horribly sad time, seeking help for our poor dog, and they could not have cared less!!! Whether there could have been something that could have been done to help her, now we will never know.. this place never even tried, and they didn’t even care to try to help our dog

Sold me 9 months worth of expired heart worm medication. Slapped their own prescription label on the front with a completely different expiration date from the manufacturers. When I went back to swap it out they kept the medication and told me they don’t know what they’re doing and I’ll have to call the next day when the technician who handles medication is there. When I called they told me they can’t just swap out the medication and I’ll have to come in on 6/11 at 2:30 to do another heart worm test, free of charge. When I showed up the door was locked with a sign that said they’re temporarily closed. Now they’re saying I have to come in on 6/25. This is the second time they’ve wasted my time, not to mention how overpriced everything is and their lobby wait times. $700+ for a dental cleaning and they kept him overnight the night before, alone, for no reason. Once I get this medication fiasco sorted out I will be finding a new vet.

I have had the best experience with this doctor and his fantastic staff. Dr McGee is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. He treats the pets with respect and dignity as if they were his own. Even the ones that are not so friendly. I have been to many veterinarians over the years and this one surpasses all others. The staff is really on the ball. They use the latest equipment and tools available and not some archaic tools or methods. He has a full pharmacy on location stocked with most medications any animal might need when going to the doctor. On more than one occasion I have personally seen this doctor and his staff defy all odds by saving a pet that had little or no chance at all. This is where you should bring your pet for the best care around. No joke, no lie. Honest to God truth. Dr McGee is your guy

Oh love these people here. I just moved in this city. I took a chance on this animal medical center. I have no regrets. The staff was so kind to us and showed my dog love. We've been having issues with our dog Ellie with her back feet getting an allergic reaction. Our last vet at Apple valley animal hospital would drain our pockets. But not Colorado river animal medical center. Dr McGee was excellent, A real nice and kind man. He showed he really cares for our fur baby. He gave us some great info on what we can do for our dog. He gave us some medicine and paid the bill. They were fair priced. They didn't put a hole in my pocket. My last vet charged me 1300. But Dr. McGee only charged me 300. I was happy to pay. And they reached out to our last vet and got my dogs records. So I am happy with our new vet here at Colorado river animal medical center.

If I could rate him zero, I would. I have a 15 yr old cat with cancer that needs euthanasia. I am a client with this hospital but this doctor is requiring an EXAM for $85 prior to euthanasia. EXAM? to put my cat to sleep? How much sense does that make? He has a giant tumor hanging off his face, and is 15 yrs old. What the heck are you examining? This doctor should be a vaccine, spay and neuter only clinic as he doesn't know how to properly CARE for people's pets. Get outta here with your $85 exam for euthanasia.

My wife, and I took our cat Coty, who was obvious to me on his last leg. He wasn’t eating his skin was a pale yellow.
I went to this doctor once before with my little dog, when she was sick, and he was very empathetic. He did a few tests sent us home with dogs steroids, and the dog was fine.
So back to Coty our cat. When we got there it was med range busy and after an hour we were called in through there policy and procedures line apparently? The girl asked some questions and hit us with a 800 to 900 dollar figure. Double what the dogs fee was six months earlier and they hadn’t even seen Cody yet. However I’ve had Coty 15yrs. So the Doctor came in and was a little more dogmatic about the prognosis. I knew? As Cody was my third cat. And they always seem to go from liver or kidney failure.
However, they talked me into all these tests and he was leaning more towards me buying their food, giving him oral injections, etc.for a week! and at that time I felt might as well give Coty that that shot…
So what really bothers me is at the time I told him I don’t want Coty feeling like shit and suffering for a week. He understood? And said that would be the best chance.
So when I went to pay the bill, it was 1050.00 okay , Higher than quoted but that’s okay. So after Just a couple of days of Cody throwing up every time I push this crap in his mouth, food and the injection we got a call From the doctors office from the girl upfront stating they had missed a blood test smear and could we come back in the next day, so they can do it for no charge of course she said, as apparently I’ve already paid for it. And she also stated would be in and out.
Well, we got there. It was packed. There was no in and out. We waited there for two hours. When we finally got into the girl who stared asking me how was Cody doing? Etc lotta da! We both knew what was going on. And I said yeah, let’s just for-go this blood smear and do the right thing. She goes. OK I’ll get the doctor..
Beyond a shadow of doubt, this was a process in my opinion of bate and switch, and then fleece the customer.
Dr. nice guy comes in with the injection, I wait with Cody and my wife as Coty’s head goes down and I look up and then there’s a handout for another $238.00 dollars!
No refund on the blood test, wr apparently paid for and never got? Nor was it mentioned.
My wife wears a lot and f things I’ve boughten her over the years, as she has memory issues… you know? And she doesn’t want to keep looking for things.
And I was in the financial industry for over 40 yrs, and I always treated people fairly. I made a profit, but I was fair.
It’s either Rolex’s and nice vehicles are targets? Or everyone in Bullhead suddenly got rich? For me? I believe the ladder.
So beware! Whatever you’re calculating in your head from 60 years of experience with pets. Just double the price when you go here!
A few more hundred more won’t bother you so much….
PS After Reading the numerous one star reviews? I’m sure I’ll be getting a cease and desist letter from this office apparently.
Bring it…
M. Mitsch…

I loved the doctor but his staff were extremely rude. I had been going there for at least 10 yrs when I called to make an appt for my sick cat. They not only told I was banned but were either unable or unwilling to tell me why.

Let me start out by saying Dr. Mcgee is wonderful. However, the office practices have become poorly managed. The wait time to be seen for your appointment is out of control. I have been taking my animals here for years, and recently had to cancel my appointment due to a family emergency. They then kept my $30.00 deposit, because I did not give 72 hour notice, (which I was never informed was required in the first place). I have literatly showed up for an appointment at this place and arrived to a locked door. Apparently, their system went down, and they did not even bother to inform me, (there wasn't even the curtousey of a note on the door). I was never compensated for the time I missed from work due to their lack of communication, should I be charging them $30.00 for not giving me 72 hour notice. Things happen, but at least I informed them, yet I am still being charged. So sad after all these years there is no customer loyalty, I won't be going back.
