Everyone who works for Cook County Animal Control is RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. Had the answering lady give me attitude randomly. Then the “supervisor” called back and completely HUNG UP on me? WHO EMPLOYS THESE PEOPLE?! Do not call this place! Read the reviews. Extremely ashamed of being a human being after those interactions. SHAME ON YOU ANIMAL CONTROL.

I would love to give them Zero reviews. I called about a rabid raccoon that would not leave my backyard. It came up on my deck and was looking in the windows for my dog. When I pounded on the glass to shoe it away it showed it's teeth and started acting very irratic. They told me that it was not in their municipality. I needed to call someone and pay to have it removed and relocated. I told him it was rabid. He told me that they haven't had a rabid raccoon out here in years. News Flash!!! If you don't come out and help anyone, how do you even know if it's rabid or not!!!! DO YOUR JOB!!!! Calling them was a TOTAL waste of my time! How do they even get paid and keep their jobs when they do nothing!!!!

There was an injured cat in the Alley behind my house, I called the cook county animal services and they send a very compassionate officer by the name of Rich Hood out. Officer hood took care to collect the cat . Thanks Cook County!

This place is a total joke! They won't help you and it's ridiculous. My town doesn't have animal control so they referred me here. This stray dog has been around my house for 3 weeks 24hrs of the day. In the front of my house and in the back of my yard. At any and all hours of the day this dog is outside my home. The man on the phone told me to get close enough and see if it has tags and if so read the numbers off. Mind you this is an unknown dog to me and he wants me to read his tag information. Im very very uncomfortable with doing this as i stressed to the man on the phone and his reply was thats the only way to receive help because theyvdont remove stray dogs.
