I became discouraged after they gave me a scare with my 3 year old dogs routine blood work which ended up costing us more money to have more blood work done to find out nothing was wrong. They initially told me 3-5 days and after a week. I still didn't have any answers and the doctor kept making excuses not to call me back or speak with me. It ended up being almost two weeks until I got results-which a tech called and simply said everything was fine and hung up. I did not appreciate the lack of communication with the vet and dodging my phone calls. I was not receiving calls back when I was promised I would get a call back later that day by the manager. It was very unprofessional and rude. Not to mention they are overpriced, you never see the same vet, and it is extremely chaotic. Previous to this incident, we had boarded our dog , and he came home with bite marks, scratches, and bruises all over his stomach and groin area, he was also very depressed and sore for a week after. When I took him to vet regarding this issue they tried to tell me they were fly bites but it was obvious they were trying to cover for him being attacked by another dog during his stay and no one informing me. I was unfortunately stuck going there because of their wellness plan, which actually has increased in price and they price gouge. I was finally able to cancel the plan and move on to another clinic.

Coyne Veterinary Center staff and doctors, I appreciate all that you do caring for the 4 legged fur babies. Especially when its time for my 2 fur babies check-ups vaccinations, grooming and boarding which I find very reasonable in price as well as walk-ins. Thanks! 🙂

Yesterday I found my cat covered in pollen from a bouquet we had on our table that had lilies in it. Frantically I called and they said to bring her in. They got me into a room immediately and took my cat to the back to start what they needed to do. Dr. Spalla was the vet who was helping me and she was so amazing. Anytime there was news, she came in and sat down to walk me through every step they were taking, always keeping an open line of communication. I was there for roughly 3 1/2 hours while they were doing tests and giving her fluids and Dr. Spalla spent most of that time with me. I really appreciated her tenderness and care with this situation. After they did all they could, she recommended me to another animal hospital that could give my cat 24 hour care. When I called in this morning to check in on her, they informed me that Dr. Spalla had also called to check in on how my cat was doing. They are stars over at Coyne, they care about your animals and you. All the vet techs are extremely nice as well and do whatever they can to make you feel comfortable.

*Edit, our cat is back home and healthy thanks to the lovely staff over at Coyne! If you struggle with finding a vet that truly cares for cats lives, bring them here, they saved my cat’s life

My baby khaleesi had a horrible rash on her stomach going down her legs that I went in for. I usually go to Hobart (do NOT recommend they are rude and also don’t care about the animals).

I called coyne to see if they’d take a new patient walk in and off we went to coyne. They were so welcoming when I walked in as well as over the phone and you could tell they cared and loved all their patients.

I gave them her medical history and mentioned that Hobart told me she had some gingivitis but not to worry about it, it’s fine. He treated her rash that I initially came there for, which has cleared up after 2-3 days!! But he also checked her mouth where she had a pretty big ulcer that I unfortunately never saw or thought to check since was told it’s not a big deal “shes fine”. He put her on a plan to come back in 2 weeks to see if the inflammation would go down with the meds he gave and he talked me through what would be done if it didn’t. I was never rushed or made to feel like a bother when I was in there talking trying to get all the information I could.

I’m leaving this review because today 4 days later coyne called to see how khaleesi is doing and it just made me really happy! I finally feel like khaleesi is cared about and not just another patient to get in and out. I cannot recommend Coyne Portage enough!

I will not go back. The positives are- they have nice, clean facilities and we were able to get in relatively quick with no appt.

But you can tell who truly loves animals and who doesn’t, and they don’t. The front desk people were alright, but again you can tell the difference. I have never felt this weird vibe at any other vet office like I did at this one. There was no love for the animals. There was one very nice tech, I wish I could remember her name.

The actual vet was very rude. I was worried about my dog having a potentially life-threatening illness and instead she took that time to lecture me about my dog being overweight. She flinched away and scolded me when my dog’s nose slightly touched her elbow which I thought was strange. And she just kept saying “at least she doesn’t have bloat, because she would be dead if she did.” She kept talking about it and I said “okay but you don’t think that’s the problem?” And again said “no, she would be dead by now.” I finally interrupted and said “if you think it’s NOT bloat, then instead of talking about that can we talk about what you think the problem IS?” She left without any real answers, had her tech bring me a brochure about BLOAT, and that was it. It was a waste of time and money and took my sick dog into a stressful environment for no reason.

I have never said this about any vet before, but I would not trust my dog’s care to them and I will definitely not go back.

I had a great experience, if I didn't leave so far, this would be my pet's home vet office. However, I highly recommend them, friendly staff, they loved on my puppy and provided great advice! They even did a follow up to see how she was doing post visit.
