I got my car’s window tint done here. It took a few hours and was similar in price to other window tinting shops. I don’t remember exactly why I chose it, but it was some combination of location and price. But when I got there, I realized that this is primarily a detailing shop - you know wash, wax, and clean the interior - for high end cars - Porsche’s, BMW’s and the like. Nevertheless, they still did a great job on the window tint. I got ceramic (better heat/UV protection, but more expensive than standard) tint on all the windows. My “can’t-get-any-dirtier-grey” minivan that hadn’t been washed since I bought it stood out like a sore thumb. But Scottie the owner/proprietor couldn’t have been nicer, both on the phone and in person. We quickly decided on an opacity based on other tinted cars that they had just finished up. I was sick of the hot car and blinding sunset, so I even got the driver and passenger windows and even the windshield tinted too. It has made a significant difference in comfort. With sunglasses, the sun in my eyes doesn’t bother me. The tint is light enough that pedestrians can see me and it doesn’t bother me when I drive at night. And my car does not feel as hot after baking in the sun. Rear windows ended up looking almost limo black because they already had factory tint. Highly recommend. Mention my recommendation and maybe he will offer me a free car wash!

James and his team did a fantastic job on my car!!! I recently had some water get into my car from a clogged drain issue. My car is older and I was worried that the water damage might be tough to remedy. Not only did James get everything dry, clean, and looking fantastic, but he fully explained the issue to me and showed me the source of the leak. I was able to go back to my mechanic and have them fix it properly so that I don't have to worry about future leaks.
They also cleaned and waxed my car exterior and it looks like new!!! My car is a "classic" at this point, from 2003, and I fell in love with it all over again! The exterior and interior look amazing. The best detail job I have every encountered!

I went to details that matter and met with scotty, i got into a car accident that left paint transfer of the other vehicle on my car. Scotty buffed it out with precision and used the correct top tier products to get it all off the paint! While i was there i got my tints done and a wash! The level of perfection and professionalism was top tier! I would recommend this place to everyone.

James and Scotty are incredibly talented in and passionate for what they do. I took my Cayman in for a paint enhancement, full interior decontamination, and wheels-off cleaning, and they did a brilliant job all around. No pressure or upselling either. They will candidly tell you what you need and do not need, even if you may initially be convinced that a much more thorough cleaning is necessary. Very personable and trustworthy. I have found my go-to place. Keep it up guys!

Scotty is the full package.

He's professional with his interactions and stellar with his services. I asked a lot: new car paint correction, PPF, ceramic tinting on windows (including the large panoramic roof – a very difficult surface to work with), and two coats of ceramic.

He made the car his own while it was with him, and it came out pristine. His attention to detail is phenomenal. There were a few small issues that revealed after a few days, but Scotty's passion for perfection took hold – he made it all right. As someone fairly OCD about my cars, that's critical to me. Any shop can claim to perform these services, but with DetailsThatMatter, you're getting a real car guy as your detailer – one that stands behind his work.

I wholeheartedly recommend DetailsThatMatter and will be back for routine services. Not only was the work great, it was all priced quite reasonably (especially for NYC).

I recently brought my Porsche 911 to Scotty’s shop for paint protection film (PPF), and I couldn’t be more impressed with the results! I don’t even know where to start. This has to be the best HAND WASH/DETAILING in the 5 boroughs hands down. They pay close attention to every detail. Corners are never cut and when the job is finish there are no imperfections. This is the first and only spot that has cleaned my car and made it look brand new again, so I was more than impressed. I also like how they take their time to make sure customers leaves satisfied with a clean car. Scotty & Jacques are very humble guys and great businessmen.
