My husband and I have a min pin puppy Payton she is 3mos old and we decided that we would take her to Devonshire for her puppy to adult needs. But on 9.11.2016 Payton had a accident and dislocated her little wrist. It was around 9:30pm so we had to take her to VCA hospital. Anna at VCA took real good care of Payton put her wrist back into place and into a splint and to us to follow up at Devonshire On Monday and she would need to be in the splint for 4weeks. So on Monday, I called Devonshire and told them what had happened and wanted to come in for a follow up. and at that time I was told they may need to do a X-ray on her at a cost of 200.00 I told them I had the X-ray cd from VCA and that my funds was low due to having to pay VCA 443.00 and 160.00 of that was for the X-ray on the cd. So they told me to bring her in at 2:00pm and when I went back with Payton and the vet came in he hand me the cd with the X-ray on it and said he couldn't get it to come up and it was no use to him and handed it back to me and said it was useless to him and then I got a lecturer on how thing don't come for free and the thing is I never ask for anything to be free and tried to explain, The only reason I was short on funds was I just had to put out 443.00 on Saturday and come Thursday I would have funds available again. he made me feel like i was trying to get something for nothing and I never hadn't even ask him for anything. All I wanted was his opinion on Payton's injury and how to proceed and finally he said she may need to have surgery at a cost of 1500.00 to 2000.00 and I told him that at that time I was unable to do. And it broke my heart because I want the best for Payton so he said now that surgery was off the table to keep her in the splint for two weeks and he will do another X-ray to see how it was heeling and we would revisit the surgery conversation at that time. And he put her on a pain medication and worked within my budget for that day and I'm very grateful for. I agreed and Paid my bill and went home. And on the way home I thought about what the vet said to me about the free lecture thing and decided he was just making sure he needed to get paid and I can understand that. it was just a different way of doing it, so I let it go. But, then around 4:45pm my little Payton's splint started slipping off her leg so I got the number to Devonshire because I knew that they closed at 6:00 and called crying. because, I was told for no movement to be made to her injury. And when the lady (I believe her name was Michelle but was upset)answered the phone I told her what was happening and ask how much would it cost to have it put back on because at that point it was off she put me on hold and came back and said they could do it for 100.00 my son was here and was willing to pay for it and I could've been there with in 10 minutes she told me that wasn't going to happen it was the end of the day at 5:00 instead of 6:00 when they close.Evan for an emergency to bad you can just go back out to VAC is what I was told very rudely, And so I will, so now my husband and i are questioning if we should continue using their services. Would you?
