Great Experience at Dorr Veterinary Hospital!
We had a scary incident with our dog Brownie recently when he got stung by a wasp several times on his face and mouth. Since it was an emergency, we rushed him to Dorr Veterinary Hospital without an appointment.

We were so relieved that the staff was able to see Brownie right away. The doctor quickly diagnosed the wasp stings and administered a shot that brought down the inflammation immediately. Brownie was back to his usual self within just 3 days!

Thanks to the fast and effective care at Dorr Veterinary Hospital, Brownie is doing great now. We're incredibly grateful for their expertise and compassion during this stressful time. Highly recommend them!

Many thanks to Dorr Veterinary Hospital. We had a scare with our Pug running fever, not eating, coughing like she was choking on something and totally lethargic. Our normal vet wasn't available and we couldn't find anyone else who could see her right away. We found Dorr Vet Hospital in Delta, CO. and they made room to see her. What a relief! Ended up she had an upper respiratory infection so the Dr. gave her a shot (I think it was steroid and antibiotic maybe?) plus antibiotics to take home. She was so much better by the end of the day and is doing fine now. What a blessing to have someone save the day. We love our little girl and are happy she's doing great now!!

Took both my doggos here and was really impressed by Dr. Dorr. It had been quick and easy to set up the appointment, and the dogs were treated very kindly. I’m happy to say that Dr. Dorr is my new vet moving forward

This doctor gave me advice that would have killed my dog had i followed it. I wish I had read the reviews before bringing my girl here. So this is what happened
We had to rush my dog to the emergency vet in grand junction due to vomiting a concerning amount of blood, upon arriving she had lost consciousness and was unresponsive. That team did amazing with stabalizing her and pulling her through the night. They asked I take her to a day vet because we still hadn't figured out what what wrong with her. They sent me with her file, and an IV bag with medication to be administratored by a day vet. Dr. Dorr was the only one who could get her in early enough so that's where I took her. When we got in a room the doctor placed her on a table, poked at her tummy and said "yup she's is pain. I don't know what to do." And sent me home. He refused to even look at her file, refused to administrator the IV I was sent with and told me to just do it home, that it was a waste of time and money for them to do it. He was convinced she had parvo even though she had already been tested twice, he said false positives happen. He didnt offer to retest her, or do any kimd of investigating beyond the poking of her belly. On my way out there door he handed me a bottle of antibiotics with no instructions on when/how many times to give to her. I overheard him talkimg about how bad my dog needed a bath (at this point shes been sick for days and was actually leaking fecal matter, so this seemed like a wildly inappropriate comment, as we were rushing her around to vets trying to save her life at that point. A bath was the least of our worries)
When we got home we tried administratoring the IV drip. After hours of not being able to to get it to work, and with my dog steadily declining I decided to take her back to the emergency vet to at least get help with her IV.
When I arrived back to the ER vet they made me aware that had I been able to get the drip to work at home I most likely would have killed my dog. Because the medication in the drip needed to be administratored at a certain speed- Dr. Dorr would have know this of he had looked at the IV bag that had the name of medications in it, or read her file but her refused to do either of those things.

My dog ended up spending two more nights at the grand junction emergency clinic. She didn't have parvo, she had an obstruction in her intestines and ended up needing three surgeries and the grand junction emergency vet ended up saving the day-and her life.

I would never recommend Dr. Dorr. If he's your only option, your better off driving the hour and a half like I did to get real care.
Any vet that I've mentioned this experience with, they're able to guess Dr. Dorr was the vet who provided this experience and that says so much. This tells me he's known in his own community for incompetence. At a certain point, refusing to retire is doing more harm and good and I think that's where this place is at.

Harsh with animals who have been traumatized by men, lazy is an understatement when describing his desire to figure out what's causing health concerns, incompetent with his excuses instead of doing his job. Would never consider taking my pets to him again

Daughter uses this doctor to spay, chip and vaccinate (went great) but they won’t see her in an emergency during operating hours. Terrible. So they’ll take the money on the well checks and preventative surgeries, but won’t help out in the worst time when someone is scared and concerned for their pet’s safety and well being. Terrible move.
