I have a difficult cat who is more than a handful for exams and procedures. Effingham Animal Hospital has always been professional, helpful, and understanding in her care. Dr. Bailey is an amazing diagnostician. The staff is well trained and genuinely cares about the pets and people they serve. 100% recommend!

My baby passed away in the care of this hospital. She had stoke on Tuesday 20, so I rushed her to this hospital. The vet gave her oxygen and sedation to make her calm down. She was very sleepy. He also ran bloodwork tested on her which her blood sugar was 500. The vet gave her insulin to low blood sugar down.The vet told me me that he would keep her overnight for observation (when no one there to observe her) I trusted him with my baby, so I agreed instead of transferred her to emergency hospital where was full equipped ( and the vet didn't suggest me to do so either) I called them on Wednesday 21 at 0700 when the hospital opened to see how was my baby doing. The receptionist told me that she was still alive, so I felt relieve. The vet wasn't there then until 0800. He called me and said my baby passed away. He said when he came in he saw she dedicated everywhere with dark stools which probably happened the night before.I wonder why the technicians didn't see that when they arrived at the hospital but waited until the vet came. No one noticed anything or they just didn't care! When I went to that place to get my baby's body, the receptionist told me that I owed them $285.. no empathy..not saying sorry..nothing.. The moral of this story..When you are a vet, you know what your knowledge is. You know if you are unable to handle the cases, you should pass or referred patient to other facilities instead of keeping the patient, so you can earn more money. If this vet suggested me to send my baby to emergency vet where the vet there had more skills and the place had fully equipped to save lives, in handling the intensive treatment, my baby was probably still be here today. I don't talk with grieve, but reasonable. I also blame myself to believe in this vet! I live and I learn!!

Everyone has always been wonderful. Whether caring for my healthy pets or the kind, medical assistance they provide when it is necessary to say goodbye to them, I praise all. Dr. Bailey is an intelligent & intuitive doctor. In addition, the front desk demonstrates daily their efforts to work hard and patiently for all the pets. They also, deserve our utmost gratitude.

I can’t express my gratitude to the entire staff at Effingham Animal Hospital. They are truly the most kind and caring group of people. They didn’t give up on my baby and showed him so much love and attention throughout the entire week. They continue to be gracious (with my crazy worrisome self) even during Asher’s recovery at home. It truly means the world.

Bottom line, I can’t say enough good things..

If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and truly caring veterinarian Dr. Bailey is the guy. 11/10 recommend.
