If I could rate 0 stars I would. Animal control has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to get rid of this aggressive stray dog in my neighborhood. This dog has attacked my neighbor TWICE. This is unacceptable. A person shouldn’t have to be HURT before they do something about these dogs. I have small children and I’m terrified to leave my house because of this dog. I have called twice and they say they will call back and send someone and they haven’t. The description they have on Google “ Animal control service for issues such as loose or aggressive dogs.” And yet, nothing has been done.

They target poor and homeless pet owners because they don't have the money to fight back. They'll claim to want to work with you, but will give no warnings, offer no resources, and just jump straight to taking your animal if they can find the smallest reason.
So then you have to pay for all the junk they'll do at the shelter even if your animal is healthy and all that was wrong was you just couldn't afford to update their tag on time, or had them tied next to you while panhandling. $45 just for vaccines ALONE that they don't know if the animal has gotten or not. And then they microchip your animal whether you want it or not and charge you $30 for that. Considering that some people are against microchips, or some animals already have one, that should be illegal!
And don't expect them to be truthful about the animal's care/situation either. They'll take a dog wearing his rabies tag with a full water bowl, but a low food bowl and report that the dog had no food and water and no rabies tag. And unless you can prove otherwise, you're screwed.

I have never been on the phone with someone more rude. I was trying to explain that there is a kitty missing in my area and that I pulled a deceased one off the road by my house that matches it's description. I was trying to ask if they would come test it for a microchip and he was very short with me telling me to take it to a local vet. Then he told me he had another call on the line and hung up on me. Thank you for trying to be understanding Sir!

Google should let us rate places 0 stars. There's been a large dead dog on a very busy sidewalk since Sunday. It's now Thursday evening. I called Monday since they're closed weekends, I was told someone else had already reported it. It's still there and decomposing rapidly in the Florida heat, all of it's liquid body content seeping out. Called again and was told they'll "get to it when they can, live animals take priority." I see why this place has such terrible reviews. They don't even prioritize live dogs because I've had issues with strays/dogs who have owners but let them roam who have tried to attack me and/or my dog in my yard and nothing is ever done.

Called about 10 times about my neighbors dogs coming in my yard growling at my family. No one comes out but if i was to shoot the dogs I'm sure it would be a problem.

Zero stars. If a dog is vicious, and has attacked/killed multiple times, there should be no questions asked.
Over a year later—nothing has been done. Do better.

called about a pit bull that had attacked our dog and was initially told that there was someone in route to our location. went to drop my dog off at the vet and came back home only to see that no one ever came. called back and was told that they never said anyone was in route and that it would take up to 24 hours before someone would come, which was a lie. 6-7 hours later… still no one came out for the pitbull that was attacking people’s dogs. the dog literally attacked another persons dog as i was pulling back into my driveway after getting back from taking my dog to the vet. expressed that a bunch of kids were going to be getting off the bus soon and was basically told that there was nothing she or they could do. was told that when they do come they would issue a citation to the man that owns him… expressed to the lady that the man doesn’t even take care of the dog properly and barely stops by to feed the dog. he doesn’t stay at the location in which he leaves his dog and literally goes days without seeing the dog. she still didn’t care. i asked if they were going to be able to pick him up and take him she said most likely not and that if they did the owner could just come back and get him. i then said how is that allowed when he has already attacked 2 dogs and has tried to a couple other times. she replied saying that all dogs fight… this shelter is unprofessional and i can’t believe they represent the entire escambia county. now i see why the reviews are horrible
