Fantastic customer service! Had my brakes done. Had a small concern about a squeaking noise a month later. They inspected it at no cost and gave me a ride to and from Fairbanks Nissan for free. Turned out to just be normal noise ceramic brake pads make when they are new.

I don't think people are aware so I'm posting this. The cat that I held to check for adoption had fleas. So, when u bring it home u will have problems. No wonder the animals get brought back. And returned. If they r going to adopt them out and charge $1 maybe don't worry. But if they r charging 150$, shouldn't they be responsible and take care of the fleas before they not quarantine and let people hold them. When people adopt our animal especially charging a hundred dollars not one dollar for someone to take over a responsibility to help sthe community socially they Should be responsible to clean up the animals of its illness or Don't complain about THE POOR animal getting returned to the shelter once again. Additionally, I'm usually not for breeders and do like animal shelters. But, at the end of the day, this particular shelter is a KILL shelter as opposed to a non KILL SHELTER. SO,it follows logic, the employees do not care Abt animals but just do their jobs. To think they r animal lovers r a misconception. Per review below, u should ask for records of what treatment were done when paying if they can r charging 150$

I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT ADOPTING FROM THIS SHELTER! I am a firm believer in shelters and giving dogs/cats a second chance. This shelter does an absolutely terrible job in regard to medical care. We adopted a dog here last year and was told she was up to date on all shots, had been spayed, and dewormed. Within the first few days she was having explosive diarrhea and at first we thought it was due to the transition of a new food. Then the vomiting began —she was completely infested with worms which created a big issue because we have 2 other dogs and cats. After about 10 days we noticed a consistent limp — she had a torn ligament in her knee and the shelter refused to admit any of this was a thing when we adopted her. Sure, MAYBE she tore her knee at our house playing but there is NO way she was ever treated for worms. The amount of worms in her vomit was sickening and she clearly had worms for a LONG time for the infestation to be THAT BAD. Now, as I sit in the parking lot writing this review we are waiting to return the boxer we just adopted yesterday. We were told he had some food allergies but otherwise was completely healthy, house broken, and had obedience training. The dog couldn’t be any sweeter but he has some SERIOUS underlying health issues — he is constantly peeing. Like uncontrollable, large volumes of urine every 20-30min that are completely clear. No matter the temperature he is constantly panting and obviously something is wrong. He is clearly dealing with some kind of hormone issue like diabetes or maybe even cancer or Cushing’s disease. To top that off, he’s showing very clear signs of kennel cough and when asking the shelter about it they said “you signed the papers he’s your responsibility now” and in the same sentence admitted another dog in the shelter has kennel cough but that he is “isolated”. So now we have to hope our other 3 dogs don’t get sick — one of which is a 16 year old senior dog. We could handle the kennel cough but not an undiagnosed metabolic condition or disease. Sending out sick animals to new homes is completely unacceptable!!! Long story short, this place is just funneling animals out like a for profit business and clearly neglecting doing any kind of real medical evaluation or treatment. Paying $200 to adopt a dog from a shelter (highest I’ve ever heard) is completely asinine when the animals are clearly not getting medical treatment. This place is a total disgrace of an “animal shelter”. I don’t usually promote a breeder over a shelter but this is not the place to get a new companion. Go elsewhere.

Wonderful experience again at fnsb animal shelter:). We brought our puppy and cat in to get chipped. Our vet quoted 300 for chips and we got both animals chipped for 30. The staff was highly efficient with dealing with our service, an incoming found dog, and a family looking to adopt. We were in and out within 15min. I made an appointment this morning which was very convenient to get same day service.

So in cities you'll find them chock full of nothing but pits and their cousins. Usually aggressive of some sort because SURPRISE they were selectively bred to be aggressive with hair triggers. I'm glad there are kill shelters that won't sit on bad dogs for months hoping to pawn it off on unsuspecting people. Likely labeled as a Lab mix to fool people even more.

Not immediately calling a chipped dogs owner is absolutely bonkers. Had to find out via a FB page that he was taken in. 2 contact numbers not called, instead greeted with "we gave your dog 8 shots and you owe us money" wild

Both my animal friends came from here. Fairbanks Animal Shelter staff are a wonderful asset to our community. They genuinely have a heart for the animals.
