I am thinking of giving up on adopting any animals from this animal shelter! Within the past 3 years, I've tried adopting a cat and then tried again a year later for a dog. I filled out and submitted the request online multiple times, as well as the paper version of the adoption application physically and in person. My daughter and I visited the shelter many times prior and again after we had patiently waited for ten business days, as instructed, in hopes that someone would call us to pick up our new addition to the family.
However, upon asking about the status of the adoption process, the clerk at the front desk wasn't capable of finding any one of my previous application submissions, and I have completed them both, an official and virtual form.

I have left this place with my kid crying and me frustrated almost every time we have been to visit. It is of NO surprise to us that the county shelter currently has such an abundance of homeless animals in supply but is unable to make any room for any newcomers despite all adoption fees being wavered. You can even see for yourself that there are stray and feral hounds roaming the grounds of our animal shelter, which makes our town seem completely incompetent!

There are always new arrivals, but never any adoptions. During my many visits, I have yet to notice anyone leaving the building with a new adoption... Want to prove me wrong and I will change this review, apologize, and work for a year free of charge if you can simply post some pictures of families actually adopting a rescue from our local animal shelter! I decided to adopt from other private parties online as opposed to dealing with unnecessary stress and anxiety that the shelter has caused us all. DM me for any details on where to actually adopt a pet.

For anyone who reads this and that works here, I'm still waiting to adopt Merlin, that is, if he is still a kitten!!

Insanely rude horrible people! No compassion at all!! The humane society dosent accent animals Your forcing people to do the one thing you were created to prevent. Epic fail

They're all very friendly and accommodating. This place is just filled with nice people. We've found our very first fur baby as a couple here. The most well behaved, smart and just the sweetest dog ever. We'd definitely come back here if we decided to give Blue a sibling and FURever playmate. Here's our handsome baby boy, Blue.

We have found out forever partner for our dog Pickles. Virginia could not have been a better match. I really appreciate how they worked with me on Easter weekend to do a meet and great! Everyone has been so kind. Really appreciate what they are doing.

Walked in for their adoption event, immediately was rudely confronted by a woman in pink, brown hair. Rudely told me where the cats are. Girl I was gonna try to adopt a kitten. Why such an attitude? I immediately felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave.

We have been here several times. The staff is always very friendly. Playing with the kittens/cats is always a joy for the children. They have a wide variety of dogs and cats ready to be adopted by a loving home! #adoptdontshop
