I am so very happy that we changed vets!! I have an older dog that had an unsuccessful surgery and is now on several meds. From the phone call to the visit, everyone was polite and professional. The vet was so very kind and had even reviewed my pups info before entering the room. She thanked us for doing so much for our Chip and taking such good care of him. No one has ever made us feel so hopeful. Thank you!!

Dr. Robert Schmurr did an amazing job on our girl Amara. She needed TPLO surgery after a CCL tear. The staff was quick to get us scheduled for surgery & helped us every step of the way. We saved thousands of dollars by choosing Dr. Schmurr. Amara healed up quickly & hasn't had any problems since. Special shout-out to Alex, at the front desk. Such a wonderful, compassionate, knowledge, & patient lady. You are lucky to have her on your team!
The staff also got us in last minute after our newly adopted stray kitten, Crash, became ill. After extensive tests & x-rays, we found out he had congenital kidney failure. The staff was incredibly compassionate during this difficult time & let us spend as much time as we needed with him before letting him pass over the rainbow bridge. The staff even sent us a condolence card with his paw prints, signed by all the staff members. I will never forget the kindness from everyone that day & will cherish those little paw prints forever.
They took amazing care of our 5 animals when we lived in Colorado. If we hadn't moved to a different state I would continue going to this clinic!

We are done here. Over the last few years my dog has been a patient here. In those few years he was given the wrong dose of steroids and almost taken in for a knee surgery that he didn't need. The old owners sold out to a corporate office and left the country leaving a new set of vets and staff.

I saw one of them today. She was short and rude with me speaking very quickly and seemingly without care for me or my dog. She didn't ask about allergies as she starts feeding my dog treats. As he begins misbehaving she seems nervous to listen to my request to remove the treats. You will not feel heard at this office.

This clinic also lost my dogs rabies vaccine information from last year causing me to have to get another.

I'm so sick of vets looking at you like a walking wallet and then getting frustrated when you are concerned about the bill. Enough is enough.

On another note they have a verbal abuse warning at the front desk. They wouldn't need that if they ran a respectful and competent office. Sounds like they have had a few angry customers come through here in the past.

Go somewhere else, this place's reputation is true.

Do better.

Edit
A week has gone by since I wrote this, nervously waiting on a cancer screening. I called back in for the results and was informed they would be emailed to me and my dogs records will be sent to me in the mail. They will not see my dog anymore. Looks like they are more conceded with their reputation than caring for our companions. See ya FVAH it hasn't been a pleasure.

When we first got a pet here in Colorado I started going here for our cat this place was good, except I didn't get reminders I would have liked to receive via snail mail about when I would need to make appointments. I would get an email no follow up if I would forget. And it was okay for our dog, Smokey until he got sick from a walk, eating something he shouldn't of. Or something, we don't know how he originally got sick but he wasn't eating as much as normal and getting to the point of not wanting to eat at all, so we made an appointment. Got medicine,he got worse, we called and made another appointment but earliest available was the following week, well we took him to an emergency vet. He ended up getting another sickness from the vet visit and having meningitis of the brain, dying that night. We called and let the office know and they weren't sympathetic at all, simply okay thanks. No we are sorry for your loss, just okay thanks. So we will be finding another vet. A place that has more compassion. This happened right before fathers Day, Smokey was my husbands dog.

Have had my cat in FVAH twice this year and both times he has made it through pancreatitis and a dent extraction without any issues. Thank goodness these vets and staff are the best. RECOMMENDED for sure.

I forgot to call in my dogs med on Friday. Called on Monday. To ask if I could pick it up later in the day. Told the girl. I forgot, was overwhelmed, alot has been going on. I did not want my dog to be in pain. The answer was no every time I spoke. I am 73. My special needs son just had surgery, all 3 of my dogs have medical issues. There was not one ounce of compassion. I was told..we can't overwhelm the vets Needless to say. Found another vet. It would have took 5 min. To fill her perscription.

I was hesitant to continue to bring my pets here after Dr. Rachel and her husband left. But I cannot give Dr. Gohier enough praise for her work!! I brought my skiddish cat in for her vaccinations. She won't even let me pet her. When I called the team, Alex at the Front Desk was super nice and accommodating and told me that Dr. Gohier said I could bring her in, without an appointment, as soon as I was able to catch her. Dr. Gohier was so kind and took her time with my Ruby, answered all of my questions, offered practical solutions, and prescribed her anxiety medication. Maggie, the Vet Tech, who helped administer her vaccinations was equally kind and knowledgeable. Prices are very affordable too! I cannot speak more highly of this practice. I will bring my babies here for as long as I have them! Thank you, Dr Gohier and your amazing team!

After several years at FVAH, I’ve moved care of my three senior dogs elsewhere. While trying to treat one of my dogs for pain, a FVAH vet prescribed a new liquid med for him. Mercedez, one of the receptionists, told me she would call me when it was ready to pick up. Four days later, having heard nothing, I called and was told the med was ready. When I went to pick it up, I discovered that it had been sitting on the shelf at FVAH for all of those four days. When I asked the receptionist, Alex, why I hadn’t been notified it was ready, she replied, “I didn’t work on it.” No apology, no expression of any concern whatsoever. I was given no information on the new med (side effects, etc.), so I did some homework when I got home. The dose ordered seemed very small for my dog’s size, so I called the clinic to get clarification (this was a Friday evening about 4:30.) I explained my concern to Alex, who refused to ask a vet to call me. She stated, “Just try it over the weekend, and if there’s no improvement, we can clarify it Monday.” (Seemed strange to me that a receptionist would take it upon herself to speak for a vet, but maybe that’s how FVAH now responds to client inquiries.) In any case, there was no improvement in my dog’s symptoms over the weekend, so I called Monday morning. When I explained to Alex that there’d been no improvement, so I was calling for clarification (as she and I had agreed Friday evening that I would) she rudely replied, “If you don’t trust the vets here, you should take your dogs to another clinic.” Again, no expression of any concern for my dog’s condition, nor acknowledgement that I was simply doing what she and I had agreed Friday evening that I would do. I, of course, immediately followed Alex’s advice and changed clinics. TWO EXPERIENCED VETS FAMILIAR WITH MY DOG HAVE SINCE CONFIRMED THAT THE DOSE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THREE TO FIVE TIMES MORE THAN FVAH PRESCRIBED. Finally, I registered a complaint with FVAH’s corporate owner, VetCor, via their website nearly two weeks ago. To date I have received no response whatsoever from them.
