We got our sweet Lucy back in May. At first, she had a lot of bones showing but with a lot of love and good food, she is now a big healthy girl! The staff was super helpful & the woman that helped us adopt her was very informative! (I believe her name was Abby or Abigail)

I adopted my two cats from this shelter five years ago after a friend suggested a pet would keep me company in the apartment I lived at college.

I’m so blessed and thankful this shelter allowed them to come into my life and for me to be in theirs. The staff were very helpful when I picked my first cat ever- Kylo. It was the first time I’ve ever adopted an animal and they explained the paperwork and shots as well as their history very well and I still have the documents to this day.

When I wanted a second cat for Kylo’s company, I opted for a kitten who could look up to Kylo and grow with us. Bindi has also been a blessing.

It’s been a long time coming and amazing to help give two beautiful animals homes. If I could, I would adopt more because I fell in love with cats even more after adopting my first two.

Thank you for giving these animals a chance at the beautiful life they deserve.

Adopt. Don’t shop. There’s a fur baby out there waiting to be your new family member!

Pretty heartbroken...
We came to the black Fur-riday sale and picked out a lovely female cat named Arwen. She is a gem, and so sweet.

Having just lost our angel of a rescue kitty, Gumbo, on Thanksgiving morning, age 13, our other cat, Max, age 4, has been very distressed. We saw Arwen online and came to meet her. She was lovely. She was also listed as 6months to 1 year old.

I picked her up just a couple of hours ago, after her spay and vaccines. She's all acquainted in the room especially set aside for her, and I go through the paperwork.

"Owners should be notified Arwen is not 8 months old and is an older adult."

This was NOT discussed with us. We picked Arwen specifically for Max due to her lovely nature, but especially her age, so we could get them acquainted because Max desperately needs a playmate. She is impossibly small and underweight. There was no way for us to know her age. Birthrate on paperwork says 12/5/2017.
Our cat is 9 years old....

Having lost 2 senior kitties in 2 years, I am sick to my stomach, devastated, and heartbroken.

Please. I understand the Black Fur-riday sale was crazy busy, and animals were getting adopted from intake faster than they could be processed, but this is so, so wrong.

We are hoping and praying our sweet girl gets along with our other kitty. As of right now, we are keeping her. We LOVE her and she is precious, but if she doesn't get along with Max, I don't know what we'll do. We don't want her to suffer.

We are so, so devastated.

UPDATE:
Arwen, now re-named Jasmine is doing very well with our other cat Max. She took to him pretty quickly, only about a week and half.

Despite being quarantined and being extremely careful, she did end up giving our other cat a pretty severe URI. She did not end up presenting signs until the day after we brought her home.

When taken to our vet and then a second vet for the URI, both vets came to the conclusion Jasmine is actually between 3 and 4 years old. We are very relieved.

Just wanted to update you guys on the situation and let you all know she is doing well, and will be loved by us as long as she lives. We are grateful to have found her ?

This place was dirty just about everywhere. They had big dogs in cages you’d put a puppy in. My sister, mom and I visited here and we were in the back area and a dog unlocked the cage and took off (this could have ended worse if the dogs were vicious)
so obviously we ran out to where the trailers of cats were and told a worker and she just sounded so casual about it. They have a lot of workers and it’s clear but there’s like no work being done (i know y’all have OVER 400 dogs but like ..) If i could i would take a lot of them home because this isn’t good for them. Workers, please do better for the dogs safety.

We had a very positive experience with the staff at the Fulton County Animal Services. All were extremely professional, exceptionally caring and non-judgmental in a situation that can be sad and difficult for someone put into a situation not of there own making. And, the animals well being was of the utmost importance. Thanks to all involved. Job well done.
