In 2021 we moved here from out of state with Mickey and Window. We had gotten them fully up to date before moving here; but as life goes our kitty (who had a pre diagnosed chronic condition) had a flare up and needed to be seen, but we didn’t have a vet established here yet. I called so many places and they couldn’t see us and all recommended an emergency vet. I called Gentle Touch as the last place on my list and they got us in. They were incredible from that very first time we went in there in 2021, and every time we’ve seen them for the last 3 years. We have seen every Vet, tech, assistant, staff member over the years and every single person is the best in every way. They truly care not just about your pet, but about you as their pet parent too. We have seen them for unplanned visits and annual checkups and the standard of care is always top tier. We recommend Gentle Touch to everyone who needs a vet because they have been a pillar of support and care for our family for years now; and we can’t thank them enough.

So thankful for Gentle Touch! My dog has huge anxiety about the vet and we were actually turned away from our previous vet because he was “too aggressive.” Gental Touch took the time to get to know my dog and what would work best for him. He was not aggressive but rather just terrified and they worked with me to get part of his exam done and we will finish in January with the other part once I get different medicine on board. Could not promote this place enough!

We were at a loss before finding Gentle Touch Animal Hospital. We adopted an adult shelter dog that came pre-conditioned with an absolute and terrible fear of vets, mostly because of what had been done to her in the past. We were at the point of of not being able to get the most basic care for her, until we found Dr. Dunham, who somehow found a way. I can't recommend the whole team enough. This dog has been the greatest gift to our family, and I can't imagine not being able to have her in our lives, and care for her in return. We have gentle touch to thank for that!! They have also been great with our new puppy friend, who thankfully has only experienced the good people at Gentle Touch and is not afraid. We can't recommend them enough.

My dog was having a medical emergency on on a Friday and my regular vet was all booked up for the next few days. My dog had gone to Gentle Touch about two years ago for a similar situation where my vet couldn’t see my dog. So I gave them a call this time to see if they would be able to help. The front desk people were great. They asked me what was going on and told me what my options were. I was able to do a drop off appointment for my dog. The vet was able to evaluate my dog in between their other office appointments. Within an hour or two they had left me a voicemail about his status. I was able to pick him up shortly after that with antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory. I really appreciated them seeing us on such short notice right before the weekend. I did not want my dog to be in discomfort over the weekend.

Due to how this office poorly handle our sick dog (she passed less than 48 hour after her emergency visit with this office) we will not be returning. We noticed in the passed few days that our dog had lost over 30% of her body way (which would be a massive concern if she was a human), vomiting excessively and very bad breath (which in her case was because she was actively in kidney failure.) When we took her in they insisted on getting her updated on her vaccines which we regrets because 1.) we had to put her down the next day and 2.) with how sick she was who know what kind of unnecessary strain those vaccines put on her already weak body. We were also told that we would hear from the doctor asap the next day to go over her results. It was almost the end of the day and we did not get a call. My partner had to call them before they closed only to be told that the doctor was not in that day and that the result were sitting on their desk. After someone else was able to read the results, now we had to rush her to a specialty clinic at 4am in the morning to be seen/treated by a specialist where we had to make the decision to put her down around 8 pm that day. We expressed our disappointment with how this office practices and was looking for reconciliation with the vaccines since they were not going to protect her from her already deteriorating conditions. The first person we talked to at first said we can be credited/transfer the total amount of the vaccine cost to our other dog who need updated vaccines. Then she told us that she could do %50 off, which we thought would be okay and asked to be sent the estimate. Not only did I have to remind them to send the estimate the day before the appointment but the estimate reflected nothing of the conversation and was going to charge more than we paid for our deceased dog's vaccine. when We asked question about the estimate the person said the best we could do is a fraction what the other lady said. We cancelled the appointment.

Other reasons we are not returning:
1.) My name has been spelt wrong (Venena) on most documents.
2.)The person said that if we really wanted the results asap then we should have paid extra to expedite the results. We would have 100% done this if it was offered to us which it never was. Talk about a slap to the face.
3.) We asked to keep our dogs on separate charts which they did not do and cause more confusion and inconvenience for us.

I would be extremely cautious when bringing your pets here. Especially if you are worried if they are sick. Had they handled the situation better we would have known the severity of our dog's condition sooner and made changes in our work schedule to spend more time with her before having to put her down. If we were told the results that morning, we could have had more than a few hours left of her life but now it feels like we were robbed of even that. This office or at least the people involved in our dogs care only cares about profit. We cancelled our other dogs appointment and found care somewhere else.

I can't say enough about this animal hospital. Drs.Guilbert & VanKoot took such good care of my cat, Thomas, as he approached the end of his life. They were so kind and gentle with Thomas and so patient with me and with all my questions. The staff answering the phones and relaying messages was amazing also. They were always so kind, patient, and helpful. Dr. Guilbert was so gentle and loving when we put Thomas to sleep. I will be forever grateful to all of you. Michele
