Our 17-week old Italian Greyhound puppy jumped off the deck and broke his front paw in two places. Our local vet referred us to Green Acres which is three hours away. We were skeptical due to not being from this area. We were closer to Cornell but they were not able to see our puppy for two days. So, we drove to Buffalo for a lat night appointment with Green Acres. From the moment we walked through the door until we picked him up the next morning, we were absolutely impressed.

They never let us down. The facility was staffed with plenty of caring and loving professionals and open 24/7. They were able to repair the broken paw within hours and sent all the medical records to our local vet for follow ups.

As a note to others traveling from out of town, we stayed at Sleep Inn which is a 1/2 mile away and highly recommend that hotel as well.

They are amazing! I ran in crying begging for help! My 7 week old puppy was scratched in the eye by the other puppies who had sharp nails! My puppy, Jack, had so much blood in his eye I thought his eye was gone! They scooped up Jack, calmed me down and loved on him like he was their own! It turned out to be a cut above his eye! Thank you Jesus! The girls at the front desk, the doctor, everyone was amazing! Everyone was so compassionate. They took care of Jack. I can't thank them enough!

Dr. Reedy and his staff last night were exceptional! Our Frank Sinatra was given the best emergent care during a difficult time with grace, understanding and extreme gentle respect! No words to describe our pain at the loss of our pup, but these folks made his transition over that rainbow bridge, that much easier! 💔

That being said, and the only reason for two stars, id like to speak about my 2 experiences with this.....i wont name call, i wont name call...place.

First visit, 3ish years ago, brought in our dog for puss in her uterus. Life threatening for those who dont know. They told us, and i quote "its going to be $7-9000 or shes going to have to be put down". I called another place while in their waiting room, explained exactly what i was told by GA, and they said "bring her in, its 1200 dollars, lets save your baby." That was me almost putting down my amazing girl (pic 1, taken today).

Last night, (im not the actual owner of this very dog but ive lived with her 2 years and have gotten very attached, dogmate if you would), we bring in our dog who was not doing good at all. After throwing up for two days, there was a pervious vet visit 36 hours prior that killed our wallets. Dog got worse. We bring her to the only open place on a Sunday. They come out asking "while the dr works on her, if anything happens, would you like them to resuscitate her, its can be as much as $750" . We explained "we literally just spent all our money at the last vet visit" to which the girl closed the paper, said " i have to talk to the dr".

Annnd thats where they didnt want a single thing to do with trying to save the girl. They came right out "well we have a compassionate euthanasia program...etc"

So because we couldnt pay right there, it was basically 'here, take your dead dog, please leave and "meet us on the side of the building", "have a good day" ' .

I do not recommend this place at all for emergency visits! If you cant afford, they will send you home with your pet "wrapped very nicely" in a black contractor bag with 3 strips of medical tape.

Money hungry, greedy, uncompassionate; a few words i can use to describe this place.

Before we told them we didnt have thousands, they we super nice. Then it was, 'oh, get out of here, see ya, meet us on the dark, weary side of the building.'

*Please note i didnt double quote certain things, as they werent said, just the impression i received between two separate visits. I did quote what was actually said. *

This staff is unbelievable. The communication, compassion and kindness from EVERY single person has been overwhelmingly comforting during such a difficult time.
Our 1.5 year old cat was attacked by a wild animal and had to undergo not one, but TWO emergency operations: and yes… It’s true… it’s a bit easier to write such a lofty and positive review when our pet’s life was able to be saved… But even if he hadn’t made it, we were so impressed with the care at green acres!!
Everyone was above and beyond thoughtful and approachable. Some staff even cried with me and held my hand when we weren’t sure Sonny would survive.
And of course we can’t say enough about the skill and integrity of Dr. Harper, who carries on his father’s legacy with humility and an incredible display of character.
I’ll admit, I originally considered taking off a star for the exorbitant price, but that’s the price of emergency animal services, as I understand it. ( I called around to confirm ).

It is clear that every faculty member contributed their absolute best for our little man and we will never ever ever forget it.

Everyone was so kind and attentive to my dog. The entire staff was so friendly and made us feel like family. I'm from out of state and my dog needed an emergency vet. I called another facility and they didn't have a doctor until the afternoon. This was 6:30am and there was no way I could wait that long. They recommended I try Green Acres, which was a closer drive from where I was staying at the hotel. Upon entering the staff was so kind and helped with checking in, and one by one others came out to see my dog to say hi… he was being a good boy. After the exam, Dr. Tanalski explained everything so well and truly made my dog & me feel better. His boo boo foot is on the mend and he’s resting comfortably at the hotel until we head back home. The facility is beautiful and the staff were amazing! I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and attention!
