I want to thank Dr Gretchen, Heather, and staff. I’ve never met a team happy to work tirelessly. They listened to my concerns that were overlooked by three other clinics, and acted quickly. Green Prairie was 1,000% dedicated to every single need my fur baby had. They were at my side and at hers in an instant every time we needed them without hesitation. Any time she came in, I was always promptly updated with text messages, phone calls, and photos regarding how she was doing. They cared for her as if she was their own. Her very unexpected passing was a shock to all of us, and in her sudden decline, they were gentle, and patient with my panic attacks coming to say goodbye. They left the door open in the room so I didn’t feel claustrophobic. They had her in a room right next to the bathroom door for me as I felt incredibly nauseous during this painful process. They did not rush me. They stayed in the room for support. I let them know coming in exactly what I needed during such a difficult time, and provided me just that. My cat Meemiss was very much loved over the last 13 years, and I feel fortunate to have had Green Prairie by her side in the end.

We searched high and low in the greater Springfield area for an Orthopedic Surgeon after our pup broke her leg. Many vets in the area list this service on their website but they don't actually have a surgeon on staff. Instead they will recommend that you go to U of I which would have been fine if their Orthopedic Surgeon wasn't out on maternity leave. What was the next suggestion from countless vets? Go to another state! Luckily i found Green Prairie because i don't have a family jet to use for transport.

Professional staff. Modern facility. Surgeon exudes the kind of knowledge and confidence that makes you feel like you found the right place...and you have. Put their contact information in your phone right now because this is where you need to go if your pup breaks its leg. We are moving all of our pups over for primary vet care also.

We were in a very scary situation with our 17 month old fur baby & needed an orthopedic surgeon which are few & far between then we found Green Prairie & Dr Gretchen & are SO thankful. Not only were they accommodating with their schedule but the Dr & staff were SO nice, professional, and compassionate we knew were where in the right place.

Update!!!! Anyone in illinois looking for an amazing orthopedic surgeon that actually cares about their patients and has compassion for people in a tough spot, look no further. Yeah, it was a 6 hour drive, but for 2000 less, and added care with the best outcome possible after having to search for an extra 2 weeks due to the choices that green prairie chose to make. FORTY32 in Rogers Arkansas. Dr. Owen Alphin is amazing at what he does and is prompt, thorough, and complete transparency from the start. Please look for the review on their google page if you are in need of an affordable, amazing surgeon with a passion for what he does.

At first, I thought this was the vet for us. I have 2 bulldogs that are my whole world. They mean more to me than I can explain. But when 1 of them ended up fracturing his elbow and the cost of surgery was quite high, I had to seek other vets to perform the surgery within my current financial capabilities. Now, I've never denied a debt of mine. I am paying on the 2 collections that are on my credit report, but they are originally from SYNCHRONY BANK, which is the only financing option green prarie really has to offer. Granted, the reason they are on my credit report is my own fault. I do accept that. But when this vet was asked to simply write a referral to another vet that is 20 hours away in Montana and refused too because they can do the surgery here in Sherman, I was appalled. To let a dog suffer rather than just writing a referral letter to a surgeon willing to take 30% down and spread the rest out over 9 months for me of a $5200 procedure is absolutely ridiculous. I think it says a lot about this clinic and their values. It's big money and good credit, or sorry your pet gets too suffer. I, for one, will be canceling the bs vet exam payments I wss making on both bulldogs just for their prevention care and will never recommend or return to this vet again. I advise anyone who actually has a heart and compassion to steer clear of them as well. I can't believe anyone that has a practice that supposedly cares could be so unwilling to help their patients out with another financing option or, at the very, absolutely least, just write a referral. Greed is one of the 7 deadly sins. I'd say it definitely surrounds what this practice is all about.

I have been taking my animals to Green Prairie for years. They are the only vet in town with their own after hours emergency service. They also see exotics, and their San Jose location sees large animals. Their veterinarians are kind, educated, knowledgeable and approachable. Their technicians and assistants have a real, genuine passion and care for animals. And their front desk staff give you their undivided attention when they're actually juggling so many things.

I can't even begin to say how grateful I am for the care my animals receive at Green Prairie. From wellness visits for new kittens to the family, to saying goodbye to my senior citizen bunnies and pocket pets in the middle of the night on the weekend... Green Prairie is always there for me and my family.
