I got my new buddy ( a lab/ husky mix) several days ago. The staff were so helpful. Angie took a lot of questions I had and really helped me out . I definitely recommend this shelter to anyone looking for a wonderful pet. Thanks so much.

We went to adopt a kitten and everyone was nice and friendly. They let us play with with the cats for awhile. The lady (I can't remember her name) who went over the adoption was very friendly and easy to talk to.

When i gave them a call to check up on my adoption application for a cat our family had absolutely fallen in love with, they told us that we had gotten her and our application was approved. We were all ecstatic, and we were immediately attached to the cat. We bought everything we needed, even ordered a custom collar for them. Now we couldn’t pick up the cat the day they told us we were approved, but we could two days later. Come that day, we get a call that our application had been re-reviewed and they had now rejected it. They didn’t give us time to correct the mistake, they were extremely rude, and they gave away our cat to someone else. The mental and emotional turmoil that this shelter put us through is unacceptable, and i would recommend no one go here to adopt, at least not if you don’t want to have your heartbroken.

I adopted my sweet Wilbur dog from these incredible people. They have their hands full, but clearly love every animal that comes through their door. Staff was so friendly and even brought Wilbur to us. They definitely take care of the animals and will work with you on adopting. 10 out of 10 will come here again when we decide to adopt another ❤️

I give them 5 stars, they are the best people I have seen at any shelter, they have helped me more than once, kind and do a great job their.. I hope people donate to the shelter because they go out of their way for the animals and the town.. I thank you guys . Keep up the good work.. Always clean and friendly people. They take care of their animals very well. Make sure you donate some dog and cat food for them! This is where I rescued an abandoned pot belly pig and she is doing wonderful.

This establishment was literally a afternoon delight. I was coming from out of state and didn't realize there was a time change. I wasn't going to make it on time but they made arrangements for their assistant manager Rick to meet us there. Boy, I'm sure glad he did. Not only was he such a beautiful person but he took us on the trail and we were able to see the breath taking nature surrounding the shelter. What an amazing trail to have for the dogs but also for the humans. By just having conversations with Rick you can tell they really care for the animals there. The double plus to this whole experience was that we brought home the most adorable, loving , sweet and affectionate kitty home. He truly was a complete addition to the family and I'm so blessed to have gotten him from this place. I will 100% recommend Greene county humane society to anyone. I wish I was able to have met the other staff , however meeting with Rick was enough for me to say that this place is the place If you want to save a fur baby's life. Thank you guys for all that you do! Thank you to Rick for sharing wonders of nature, animals and your love for them.
