The lady otp and at the front desk were very kind and helpful. The young man who showed us the kittens was very kind and told us what we can and can not do. I appreciate him educating my son on how to not hold the kittens because kids don’t know how hard or soft to hold them. I don’t see why they have mean reviews the people where kind and attentive and let us see our baby girl before we went and got her from the long weekend.
Adopt is definitely better than shop. We love our Princess Pebbles she’s so sweet and has amazing temperament! Thank you all so much!
Side note for the ones wondering yes you do get a citation on approval and adoption day but that’s because they just want the kitties spayed and neutered so they don’t have a bunch of abandoned kittens. Come on guys grow up it’s mandatory it should be for all animals. These poor babies get bosses so please stop with the bad reviews. It’s for the safety of the animal and to live a long life!

I can’t put down a deposit over the phone for the cat trap that you have to sign for! AS if they won’t have my card information Their hours aren’t reasonable she basically told me on a day that I have off which is NO day that they are open? They close at 4pm when I go to work they’re closed when I get home from work they’re closed. The cats are hissing at my 5 year old and they refuse to help. Why are they open ? But they’re willing to come out and give notice to the neighbor to stop feeding them. Weird

So it started off odd. Walked in they requested both ids and then decided they didn’t need both because and I quote ‘we are just trying to get rid of animals’. After we went back and looked at the dogs we decided on James. While filling out an application for the puppy we overheard the male in the office say we decided on James. The lady commented awe everyone loves James. The guy then proceeded to say ‘Yeah everyone loves James until they get denied’ we proceeded to fill out the application. Monday came and we had to call them (of course cuz you def don’t get paid to call people 😂) we ended up getting denied because we didn’t tell them our entire life story such as the situation with owning our home. They were very bent out of shape about my cats not having a vet since I just moved here either. Don’t forget though, they don’t even have a vet to provide animals with up to date shots or neutering them or spaying them. God forbid someone else doesn’t though 😂 even though they just wanna get rid of animals. Imagine saying that and then holding the animals hostage to the point that you see the complete disappointment on the poor babies faces. I bet if we wanted the kittens he tried pushing onto us we would have gotten approved. 😂😂😂

I called to ask a question snd get answer. A guy answering the phone thought he was going to seriously bully me. Such rude people! I'm sure there has to be a nice person working there. I don't believe the rest care at all about cats or dogs. The mayor should have one or two different people call and see what they say and how they are treated. All but maybe one or two should be replaced with people who care about animals and know how to treat people.- Unbelieveable!
They need a new and larger kennel line up to temporary foster. I am still angry from just trying to talk to some of these people. Maybe this place should close its doors for good !
I will remove that star and put an F for failed now! Horribile.

Really bad and rude customer service.
The lady and the guy in the front desk had an attitude towards me since the very 1st second I got into the building. She asked what I needed for I explained to her I had found the dog wandering around. She asked me where I had found it and I told her I found
Him at the South Shore train Station in Hammond, but she insisted it was East Chicago. Then she asked if I was a Hammond resident, I said I live in Munster.
She asked how I found him there if I live in MuNster... I told her I went there to drop my son off at the station since he was going to Chicago. Then a rude guy came saying I have to be a Hammond resident those are the rules WITHOUT EVEN FACING ME OR GUIDING ME INTO THE RIGHT PATH TO FI D THE DOG A SAFE PLACE. . I thought they were there for the animals regardless of the residency of the finder.
ANYWAY, THEY NEED TO BE TAUGHT HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE ESPECIALLY IF WE R TRYING TO HELP.

I will never forget the time they called my Mother's home stating they found her missing Beagle and that we can go pick him up. We got there and she charged us an overnight fee! We told that nobody mentioned about a fee and we asked how was the an overnight fee if they was closed? The lady looked at us rudely and then us told us an animal control trucked picked him up, dropped him off and that nobody was able to contact us since they was closed on hours of operation. We gave them the money and then they didn't want to give us the dog because they wanted to make sure he had his shots and if he didn't they will do it. So they contact the place we generally take him and they confirmed he was good to go. We had to wait a whole hour to get the dog back. The area where they keep the dogs and cats was surely disgusting. A sad environment for the animals to be at. Can't believe this small place is an animal control. They need a bigger, better, cleaner, and more friendly places like the one in Munster. Worst environment and staff ever!

Not help at all from the woman who answered the phone, have a stray cat around my house looks like shes in heat bringing other feral cats around, keeping it in the garage for now and call animal control, their basic answer was “ its yours now call a animal shelter, you created this problem” dont think they care for animals at all.
