Our dog is only a little over 1 year old, but we've gone here for both her routine checkups and once when she was sick. Everyone has always been very nice, helpful and willing to answer all of our endless questions! My wife has mentioned that she's heard prices are a bit higher here, but I don't have any other reference point to compare against there. I've always felt the prices were reasonable considering the services received.

For me it's enough that the service is great and our dog is still super excited to come here even after getting shots!

The staff are always very helpful and friendly. They are bright hard workers, but still take the time to know their patients and their handlers. Dr. Fritz is fantastic. He has an unmatched bedside manner with nervous upset patients (like when my giant dog tries to find a place to hide in the exam room). Once he comes into the room, my dog just stays by Dr. Fritz while he’s being examined. I have had dogs all of my life (almost 45 years). So, I have a basis for comparison. I feel confident in the things that are suggested, advised etc. and I know that Dr. Fritz will make himself available to go over all test results and concerns. I also appreciate the realistic approach. I had some serious personal health issues following a fall and unlike my usual self, I fell off track with my dog’s maintenance medication. Dr. Fritz advised it would make more sense to get him back on track with the medication for a set time before running tests to learn the current status of the issue for which he needs the medication. Why put the dog through more stress? I was also referred to another very reputable veterinarian when my dog needed a service that was outside of their regular scope. I respect the confidence and humility that requires. Seriously, everyone I’ve dealt with there is well above average and are worth traveling for if needed. Finally, I recommend Harper Animal Hospital to anyone for any reason. I’ve had people say things back like, “they are expensive.” The truth of it is simple albeit a bit cliche, you get what you pay for.

I cannot say enough good things about Harper Animal Hospital. The staff at every level are fantastic- from the front desk to the veterinary technicians and the veterinarians. We have the privilege of working with Dr. Sally Ploch. She is the best veterinarian we have had over the years. She is caring and compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. Our dog has had a lot of medical issues, and I know she is in good hands with her. I feel she and the rest of the staff genuinely care about our dog, and you can see that from how calm our puppy is when we bring her and the fact that she often tries to go back in the door when we leave. If Dr. Ploch saw humans, I would happily have her as my primary care physician.

Been here several times lately. Seen several doctors and front staff people.

Not a big fan of this place. My last visit the doctor whom I've never met walks in and doesn't say a word to me and starts examining my dog. No discussion to me whatsoever. Was really awkward and unorthodox.

That said, the wife and have seen 6 different vets at 3 locations in past few years with our dogs and I'm not impressed with any of them

Either the doctors are bad or the front office is bad or the vet technicians are bad. Or.....all they want is your money. We've all experienced that. Routine visits turn into $500 for a bunch of crap that they "recommend" and not necessary.

I've learned to NOT let them do whatever they want to my pet, only what I want them to do. Be a good advocate for your pet and don't let vets do whatever they want at your pets expense and your financial expense. Decline services if you don't want them to do it

We have been bringing our dog here since she was a puppy. It was obvious to us who we would entrust her to on the time of her passing.
Our friend Bella left us October 4th after a short illness.
We received amazing care over the 14 years we were blessed to have her as a part of our family.
Part of that family is the staff and doctors here.
The compassion and friendship shown to us made the ownership of a pet so much easier.
When time came for Bella to leave us it was hard on us but was explained to us with a caring nature.
The office staff was great in follow up calls with her care over the years and appointments were easy to make.
Dr Fritz and staff should be given your consideration when looking for care for your loved one.

the attending doctors have always been very thorough, gentle and caring when doing their physical exam on my dog and have always taken the time to listen to my concerns and answer any questions

We moved to Harper Animal Hospital after a staff change at our home vet and I couldn't be happier! My cat got the love and attention that she deserved here! My concerns were taken seriously and my little girl was so content that she fell asleep in the sink after her shots. I definitely recommend you make the switch if you're thinking about it!!

I just wanted to give a shout out to April at Harper Animal hospital. We had our almost 1 year old dog Chief neutered yesterday and she was so professional and helpful. I spoke with her a few days before the procedure for about 20 minutes and she answered all my questions and was to patient with me with all my questions. The reason I had so many questions was because this is the first time we waited to have one of our dogs neutered or spayed as the dogs we have previously had were fixed as puppies. Anyway, I have always found the Harper staff to be very nice and always helpful. April is a wonderful asset to your company.
