DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLINIC. Only interested in making money off my pets, could care less about the health of the animals. Lied multiple times about pet'c condition and medications.

I initially brought my cat in after adopting her from a local rescue because I thought she had asthma after witnessing some reverse sneezing.. the vet stated it may be hsv and gave me antivirals .. fast forward to this past saturday I was out of town dealing w. A death in my family when my husband had to bring her back in because she was severely ill and in doing so we ended up having to surrender her Because the treatment was Too costly And I did not want her to die. I was very heartbroken about the experience. I went on Facebook on a military spouse page and asked if anyone had a kitten As my cat was my emotional support animal, and I was looking to replace her that my husband Is often not home due to military activities. One of their vet tech was also on the page and begin to attack me Saying that I wasn’t even at the appointment and my husband was heartbroken She further insinuated that I was the reason that my cat was sick and put several of the Details about the appointment on a public Facebook post this resulted and individuals writing me calling me a cat killer And stating threats to me. The vet tech was not remorseful until after I told her that I will be calling Her place of employment and also leaving this review. Furthermore, she tried to be even more shady and said that she hopes with my next cat I have enough money to take them off island, even though I explained to her that the reason I cannot afford, the treatment was due to me burying a family member out of pocket that week. I will never bring another pet here because although my cat is an animal I now know that I can’t trust the employees At this facility to maintain a level of professionalism or confidentality

Reasonably priced, but what makes them one of the best is the customer service they provide! Everyone I have ever interacted with is so nice, helpful and kind. You can see how much they truly care for their patients. They are super helpful in finding solutions to problems that occur with your pet that fit your family and your abilities. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a good general vet clinic. I only ever had appointments with one of the vets on staff.

I take all 5 of my animals here (1 cat, 4 dogs). I have never trusted a Veterinarian the way I trust this place. Every single staff member is polite, professional, courteous. They handle animals very well. And they don't charge you for things that you don't need! They prioritize animal health care over profits!! You don't see much of that these days!! They will help you find options to make informed decisions and give you options on how to pay for necessary (sometimes expensive) procedures. Seriously, this place is wonderful. Highly recommended.

It's inside the Mililani PetSmart in the front right corner of the store, relative to a patron facing the front doors from inside the store.

The absolute BEST place to take your fur babies! Their app allows you to access med records and schedule appointments! Very conveniently located at Mililani Town Center. My closing bills are never bloated with extra fees and are easy to understand. Staff are always nice and friendly even when they are busy.

The guy on the phone seemed great at first and was helpful with appointments. Then I got there and they messed up my appointments for two cats. I had to reschedule at one point and common sense is if I schedule an appt for both cats, when I reschedule I also want to reschedule for both. I couldn’t handle the fake sympathy for their wrong doing that he gave. My cat has never been around anyone but me and my husband and was so terrified to be in there the hairs on her tail were standing up. When I show up with my cat I expect to go back with my cat unless she needed something that actually required someone other than the vets being in there. They said I couldn’t go back. My cat is equivalent to my kid. There’s no reason on why I shouldn’t be able to go back with my animal. Idc what anyone says. She literally just needed a check up.

I do not like leaving less-than-stellar reviews but looking back, I feel certain signs were missed that resulted in the euthanasia of our much beloved cat.

Our cat went to HI Pets for the first time in January for a routine check, vaccine update, and a concern that she grunted rather than meowed. I felt it was weird we couldn’t be present in the exam room as other vets do allow this. Her grunt was thought to be caused by the vog that was over the islands back then. In hindsight, it may have been the first indicator.

Our cat went back in March because of a loss of appetite, increased drinking, and decreased activity. She was found to be hypersalivating (she had thick long drool) and she lost 1 lbs of body weight (she previously weighed abt. 13 lbs). Her bloodwork was mostly good, but globulin (a possible indicator of infection or cancer) was increased. They said it was a possible UTI and to monitor if she would become sicker. We went home with some meds, and it felt like she was eating a bit more again.

Sadly, it didn't last. She eventually refused all hard food and ate only a little wet food. We went back in May. She was found to have lost another 1.5 lbs. We mentioned we didn’t feel she didn’t want to eat but instead couldn’t eat. She would dig in enthusiastically, only to stop shortly after. We felt the issue was perhaps dental related. They did a LOT of tests, and it was an expensive visit (over $800). There was no conclusive outcome despite several tests being outside the suggested ranges. She was still hypersalivating but because we said it could’ve been from the car ride, it was left at that. They suggested we should get an ultrasound as there were some concerns for possible neoplasia (abnormal tissue growth).

When calling the referred place for the ultrasound, we heard the estimated cost was abt. $1,000. I felt this was a lot of money and asked my wife to call the clinic to make sure they looked into her mouth. I firmly believed this is where the issues came from. They said they did, and that nothing was found. We then decided to get a 2nd opinion at a vet we used to go to before HI Pets.

At the other vet, we expressed our concerns and handed our paperwork. They agreed $1,000 was a lot for an ultrasound (they said it should be abt. $450). They checked her neck and found a little bump. They told us to feel as well as we were in the exam room, and we felt the same. They then looked into her mouth and found a large oral tumor. We were referred to an oral and oncology specialist who confirmed it to be most likely squamous cell carcinoma. There was a small chance the tumor was benign, but due to the rather large size at that time, it was unlikely our cat would survive the procedure to rule malignancy out. We opted not to have this procedure done because of the associated risks and poor outcomes. We’d rather had her spend her final days without stress. Not long after that, an in-home euthanasia was performed as she was suffering from the inability to eat, loss of weight (weighing 9.4lbs from 13lbs before) and reduced energy levels.

This is in hindsight and there are things we maybe should have expressed in a different way to HI Pets. Like, we maybe shouldn’t have said the drooling could’ve been caused by the car ride. However, HI Pets was thinking of an abnormal growth and I feel this tumor should have been seen at our last visit in May as it was definitely there when we got a 2nd opinion shortly after. Also, the apparent loss of appetite combined with excessive drooling are among the main indicators for SCC oral tumors. Knowing this, I feel HI Pets should have done a better job at looking at her oral cavity.

Again, it is in hindsight, and we won’t get our beloved cat back. It is a lot of “if onlys” for us. I’m a grown man, breaking up as I write this review because of the knowledge that, had this been found at a less advanced stage, her outcome may have been different. She was with us for about 10 years, it was the sweetest animal I’ve ever met. A true and full member of our family. I will miss her dearly.
