I had an injured blue jay and I called Humane Indiana Wildlife. They were so nice and compassionate about the bird. Even though they were getting ready to close, they still admitted the injured bird into their care

My children and I rescued two baby finches! A hawk had gotten their nest, knocking it down. The mom was dead and one of the babies had also been killed by the hawk. There were two babies left huddled together chirping loud and continuously! Which is what got my 6yr old daughters attention!

We had the babies for a few days and then took them here!! They were so nice and I felt at ease leaving them there! My kids also got to see all their long-term animals and were told why they had to stay in the facility and couldn't be released! They got to watch one of the workers feed all the birds too!
We not only left a baby bird somewhere safe, but we learned a lot too!!

Wow, I had heard of Humane Indiana Wildlife, but now I have a better understanding of how they operate. My Girl Scout troop had the privilege of having a tour and meeting some Ambassador Animals! The facility has a small footprint, but also has a mighty mission to help animals and, through research, the community at large. I encourage everyone who is able to support them with wish list items or monetary donations! Great job, Nicole and staff for helping wildlife in Indiana! 🐾🐾🐾

They were very friendly when I called about an injured rabbit in my yard. I brought it to them, and they were very informative about the situation, and they were very honest. I was able to call to get an update on the outcome, which I greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, the rabbit's injuries were too severe, so they had to euthanize. However, it's just good to know that they are there to help and try their best to save animals if they're able.

Very important work done by kind and experienced staff. The three ambassador birds that I met (as part of a Indiana Dunes Birding Festival Trip)- a Screech Owl, American Kestrel, and Wood Duck- all looked bright, healthy, and well-cared for. Karen, the (male) Wood Duck was a character!

We were on vacation and found another injured hawk. They were very informative and helpful on intake. Definitely left the bird in good hands. We also enjoyed walking around the enclosures for their ambassador birds and animals it was very interesting.

Staff was very friendly and helpful! We dropped off a baby bunny that had been injured when my husband was cutting the grass. They gave me an intake number so that we could call back and check on him, which I found comforting because we were worried about him. When we finished with the intake process, we were invited to see their permanent animal residents on the premises, which was really cool! We plan on gifting needed supplies so they can continue to help Mother Nature's critters <3. I'm so thankful for this place! I didn't even know they existed before today. Keep up the good work!
