The staff here does not explain the return policy of any animals they are rude as hell, very unprofessional. They will take the kitten back but will not refund you or let you swap to find a better fit animal for your home. This is the store policy but it’s not in any documents that I signed . This was a Christmas gift for my baby girl and the kitten is to rough/aggressive for my little girl . They would not even take that into consideration . I spoke to the young lady who helped me with my adoption a few days ago and she told me to give the kitten 3 weeks and then she will see what they can do ,. (Don’t know her name) . Then I spoke to the manager Emily and they stated that they are working on getting that information added to there policy. I asked where is the accommodation and the lady who helped me not the manager told me they accommodate the animals / not the people and hung up on me . If I could I would give them a -100 I do not recommend this shelter. Especially if this is your first time and not sure if the pet will be a great fit or not for yourself and family. I am sure I will be on the do not adopt list. I DO NOT RECOMMEND .

Here is the manager (EMILY) down below telling lies . I never tried to return any kitten in 2022 I also never disrespected any worker at this location up until she hung up on me. They all are liars so quick to come and update lies . There is no document saying no refund policy in the paperwork that you cannot swap animals or get your money back if you return nor did the rude lady who did my paperwork explain that neither. It CLEARLY SAYS it in the paper work THEY DO RETURNS! I never said I no longer have the kitten because I do still have her and I put it on my application that was done for the new kitten . Please tell the truth maybe you will get more business.
Also they threatened if I disputed the $125 with my bank that they would still charge my card because my info is on file . Basically threatening me so I kindly did my dispute returned the kitten and canceled my card . Play with other folks not me. My bank crediting a temp credit of the $125 & sent me a new card I will give another update soon, I know they will try to fight the dispute

My boyfriend and I were looking to adopt a cat from here. Frank helped us out and we actually held a nice conversation. Frank is so kind and I would recommend everyone go here if you’re looking for a fur baby. Thanks Frank for helping us get our new baby! ☺️

The staff and volunteers are always very kind and helpful when making donations. We just adopted our dog there a couple of weeks ago, and they were so informative and thorough with the process.

Definitely love volunteering here! A lot of the staff are very welcoming and sweet even during their busy hours. It’s clear that they care so much about the animals and love them like their own pets. Actually thinking of fostering sometime in the spring.

We love donating to the Hobart Humane society. We recently added our little "mashed potato" Max into our family. Thank you for everything you do to help all the little ones who need homes. Highly recommend.

Sweet, giving ladies accepted me and my neighbors 7 stray cats when the mommy cat was hit and killed by a car. They spayed and neutered all the kittens. Placed 2 in forever homes and are currently nursing 2 back to health. The remaining 5 will be in our neighborhood for the rest of their lives thus the reason we've constructed insulated outdoor bungalows for their warth and comfort.

This place absolutely just sucks. We went in to adopt Novo who has been in their placement for 5 months!!
They informed us he had an altercation with a cat previously but we said that it was fine we would get training. We went through 2 meet and greets with our family (children) 2 days in a row.
Again they knew we had a cat from the very beginning. So the second day I go into visit him I ask what I have to do to take him home. I did the application already. They said I had to get it approved my my mobile home park. So i decided I would get him registered as my emotional support animal and he would never have to worry about pet restrictions. We wanted to give him a big loving home. Get him training. We understood the level it would take to get my cat.and novo to atleast coexists.
I called later on and informed them of this info just for them to tell me we were denied because we have a cat!
Why couldn’t that have been said in the beginning! My application literally said I had a cat!!
I think the decision made was bullshit and wrong!
I could give Novo the home he deserves! And after 5 months you would think they would want him to go to a loving home that willing to do everything they could for him!
I will NEVER go here again nor will I recommend anyone else. I see they have a lot of reviews like this as well. So it’s not just me.

I have fostered many animals for them and Jenny is so great. They really care about the animals and are supportive of those who help do so, as well. I wish I could give back by helping with financial support for their needs. Such as supplies, building repairs, health care etc…
