This place is called Jackson County humane society. We live in Jackson County. We were told they only take animals from Seymour. We donated 20 lb. Bag of cat food. When we needed to drop off a stray cat they refused to take the cat because we live in Jackson County, not Seymour. They should be ashamed to call themselves a humane society. This place deserves 0 stars.

We adopted our sweet boy Moose in January from Jackson County Humane Society. The process was smooth and easy and we would adopt again from Jackson County! Where some animal shelters are hard to get ahold of, Jackson County always responded quickly and timely. We are so lucky to have Moose in our lives.

Director was Rude and Not helpful. She suggested I look elsewhere. The Humane Society Building stunk so bad of cat feces, it made my eyes water. I have adopted shelter dogs all my life and highly recommend shelter pets, just not from this one.

Found our adorable, sweet puppy here. The process was super easy and we had our new baby in a few days. (we slept on the idea until we were sure). Julie was super sweet and you can see how much she loves the babies and makes sure they're going to a proper home. Highly recommend!

Awful and stressful experience trying to adopt a kitten from this place. If you’re going to adopt an animal, make sure you know every single right answer for your application, because if you put “unsure” on any question, you’ll probably get denied. Even if we had been approved, we were considering not adopting at this facility merely based on the stress of trying to get ahold of someone. The lady seemed very nice when I talked to her, but she WILL NOT work with you if you are a new adoptive parent. Just keep that in mind before adopting at this place.
