DO NOT TAKE YOUR POCKET PETS HERE. It pains me to leave this kind of review but it reflects how I am feeling right now. I took my very elderly sick pet mouse to get a second opinion and I am full of regret shock and sadness. The examination was very rough on my poor girl and she seized out and passed right after her heart rate was taken. The knowledge I received prior to this tragedy seemed excellent but the handling of my very fragile, old exotic pet, was not. I understand she was close to being on her way out but this vet just essentially caused her passing right then and there. I wanted the absolute best for my girl when she crossed, and I got the worst. 2 years of babying this mouse and being as careful as possible with her, just for her to end the way she ended. I am literally traumatized, I am so devastated, Please please I beg you to be GENTLE with senior pets as if they are your 90 year old grandma… I don’t know how I will emotionally recover from this experience

Dr. Kersting and his team took such good care of my gerbil. The office was friendly and efficient. Pricing was very reasonable and transparent.
I am so grateful for the quality of care. It’s hard to find a Veterinarian for a “pocket pet”. We’re lucky to have Dr. Kersting.

Dr. Kersting and Dr. Canada are fantastic avian veterinarians. Our cockatiel had a laceration that had to be surgically repaired. They are competent, capable, and did an excellent job with his surgery. When surgery was mentioned, I was nervous about cost. The procedure was quick, simple, and fairly priced. I highly recommend them.

We had two rabbits and had them both scheduled for neutering on the same day. Unfortunately, one of our rabbits passed away during the ‘routine’ surgery. When we came to pick up the bunny that did survive, they made us pay on the spot $200 to get her cremated. Fast forward and her ashes given back to us in a cheap cardboard box with no personalized touch. We have had two other pets cremated in the past and have never not been returned ashes in a wooden box. Our daughter was startled when she opened this flimsy cardboard box just to find a clear plastic bag of her ashes in there. We had assumed there was a wooden box inside. We were also supposed to get a paw print and didn’t receive that. Just so so so disappointing.

Understand that these things happen, but the way they handled the death was such a turnoff that I will never return.

Will never return here and will never recommend them to anyone else.

Sadly our little pet mouse developed a very large tumor and I felt the loving thing to do was have her humanely euthanized. I called several small animal vets, and his clinic was the only one that would see her, and He even stayed open late to see her. Both he and his nurse were very caring and compassionate through the whole process, and reassuring that I was making the right choice. It was sad and hard, but I felt comforted in the right hands. I also mentioned to him that we recently rescued 2 lop bunnies, so now I wouldn’t hesitate to take them there for veterinary care. Our friends have also taken their birds there for many years, and highly recommend them.

We had our first experience with Dr Kersting and his staff when our guinea pig became sick. The whole staff was incredible throughout the process, giving advice, support, and endless kindness. Unfortunately after a few weeks we had to put our Guinea pig down and the way they handled the whole process was with such grace and compassion is unmatched. Dr Kersting personally took time to explain to my son, who was very upset, the process and what was happening. His kindness will not be forgotten. Would highly recommend this vet for helping you with all your animal needs!

Worst vet ever for reptiles. They don’t know what they are doing. They push you aside and they do not care. Way out of there league but act like they know. Over charge and do nothing. HORRIBLE took my baby someplace else to see an actual decent reptile vet!

It doesn’t get any better!! They are treating my parakeet and we have worked together to change his diet so his liver can rejuvenate.
I know we are not out of the woods yet, but their incredible time, instruction and care is beyond belief! I recommend this clinic to everyone! As far as some of the reviews I’ve seen here “cost ?”, sorry you pay for what you get ….”expertise “. Thank you Dr Kersting and staff !!!!!
