After over 25 years of seeing several Vets on Maui I am convinced Dr Leo is the place to go. While others often express that his bedside manner is lacking compared to how younger vets run their business, Leo knows from experience how to treat dogs, cats, and other animals. He never has recommended unnecessary treatments, always has been willing to give sample medication or small portions of things he is suggesting so that I can give it a try with my pet first before buying, and while Lahaina Vet is a no nonsense clinic without a whole lot of "feel good" extras, I personally would go with professional experienced people every day of the week instead of other clinics that seem to be hiring Vets that work on commission!

Dr. Leo puts your pets first. Unlike other Vets, he doesn't try to gouge his patient's owners. He is knowledgeable, straight up & to the point...calls it as he sees it, which is something I reallly appreciate. He takes very good care of my dog's needs.

This is a wonderful place! Dr. Leo is honest and knowledgeable. He saved my elderly cat, Mele Kai, who suffered from chronic kidney disease, many times. He also provided wonderful care for my kitten, Hoku'loa. I have been to a couple of veterinarians on the island. Dr. Leo outshone the rest as he truly cares about the animals and working with the pet owner. He does not try to sell you things or services that you do not need. He is honest with the vaccines that you should get and does not over vaccinate. His office is simple, yet clean and well stocked for services. I highly recommend Dr. Leo Murakami.

Brought two puppies in for shots and checkups after they were abandoned. The doctor was so informative and straightforward! You can tell he truly cares about the health of the animals! The actual work took about 30 minutes but he spent another 30 making sure i knew about specific risks such as parvo and heartworm, and how to manage them!
