Don't do their job at all, I've been calling them for 2 WEEKS about two dogs that are running around wild by my neighborhood and now they are starting to charge at people and bite at them and no one has come to get these dogs. one of them is pregnant and I would really hare for her and those puppies to be in the cold. They pick and choose when to do their jobs It's very aggravating to be woken up by constant howling and barking because they are afraid and cold. If I could give 0 starts that would of been a better option. Do Better than what is being presented at this moment.

Not very helpful. Recently a cat just adopted me. She came loud and fast into my home and refuses to leave. I just moved out here to Indiana and am low income. I came here to ask for donations as I am struggling this holiday season and they pretty much told me to try else where because they were low on stock. Even though their lobby was CLEARLY OVERFLOWING with donations from other ppl. And behind her was stacks of pet toys and food. The woman who appeared to be the only adult amongst other teenage volunteers could not even be bothered to print out or find numbers or places for resources elsewhere. Very disappointed.

I have been to this location before to look for our next family member and was always greeted with the typical smell of a shelter with a lot of dogs and cats. Not usually pleasant. I recently came back to this facility and couldn’t believe how nice it smelled and looked. The entry way was organized with items for the public to use and the main lobby was clean and smelled so much better than in the past. The director, Shanda introduced us to our now new family member and was very knowledgeable on the dogs temperament, likes and dislikes and shared as much background knowledge of the dogs past that they had. Whatever they’re doing there, keep it up! We had such a pleasant experience and will definitely be back and recommending them to friends and family.

We adopted Midnight 9 years ago today and we loved him unconditionally and we had to put him down this past August and we miss him and love him so much ❤️ 😢

I adopted a beautiful boy (dog) named Rocket! Once I got him home I noticed a bit of a limp. I called Lake County back and they said to bring him in. They took care of everything the vet, the vet bill, including new vaccines since he was due this January 2024, and showed all the love that they have for him to have a healthy, loving forever home ❤️❤️!! Oh, Rockets limp just turned out to be a sprained ankle I would highly recommend Lake County Animal Control to anyone that I know is a good person and would be a great pet owner! The staff at Lake County are polite, caring, informative, so helpful I couldn't ask for more. ❤️❤️

Haven't been there for a number of years. Surprised how bad the entrance smelled. Cats are now confined in the back cages instead of the viewing room. All the dogs were Pitt Bulls. The staff was friendly and helpful! The shelter needs to be remodeled, very depressing.
