My emergency vet recommended this service and I am forever thankful. Thanks to Lap of Love, my sweet Sugar was able to pass away in my arms and in our home. Dr Megan was so incredibly sweet, patient, and understanding. Dr Megan provided us with keepsakes I will treasure my whole life.
The representatives who answer the phone are so kind and empathetic and they made the whole experience easier on our family.

I called Lap of Love for in-home euthanasia of my almost 19 year old kitty. Though she had been on a downhill road, one day it became clear that she was suffering, and it was time to send her on over to her next place in the universe. I called Lap of Love due to its good reviews but not really knowing what to expect, having never done this before.

From the first person to answer the phone at Lap of Love to the vet who came to the house, everyone was just wonderful. They were kind, compassionate and thoughtful. The vet was available later that same day and arrived a couple hours after my call. She was gracious and professional and took care of my girl with kindness and love. She explained when she was doing and and after my kitty was euthanized, she brought it a sweet little basket with blankets and placed her in it to carry her out. She gave us a paw print in clay compound and even let me carry her to the car.

I chose private cremation and the company they use for this (Monarch Pet Memorial Services) was excellent too. When the need arises, I highly recommend them.

I am grateful I used Lap of Love. Dr. Jordan took his time and explained everything. I’m also very grateful for their bereavement services. They offer free group counseling & private bereavement counseling for a fee. I am also very impressed with the crematory services.

Lap of Love helped us 6 years ago when our first family dog Sandy passed and they assisted with getting her from our home to the memorial facility. Earlier this week, we called them to help us again, this time for our senior girl Scruffy who was suffering from kidney failure. Dr. Jordan was amazing, caring, gentle and explained everything which made us feel more peaceful about the situation. The lady I spoke to when I first called couldn’t have been any nicer and empathetic which made my phone call easier even though I was crying the entire time. I highly recommend this service for your fur babies. Allowing your four legged family member to stay home for their journey over the rainbow bridge is much easier for them and you. It is definitely the best option when facing this very difficult situation. Thank you Dr. Jordan and Lap of Love for helping us get through this hard decision. Sandy had a black nose and Scruffy had a light nose but they were the same soul.

Please make sure to be informed about the home pet euthanasia process, unlike my mistake with Dr. Robyn D. Baldwin, who put to sleep my baby several years ago. I have since learned that there are different ways to conduct the process at home vs. in office, the main difference being in how long it takes for the pet to finally expire after the injection and how comfortable the pet is throughout.

Sadly, for my little girl, Dr. Baldwin took the lengthier, less pain-free route, for what reason, I am unaware. Had I known of the differences, I would never for a second have considered a vet who conducts the process that way.

After the final injection, I assumed it would only be a matter of seconds before my girl was gone, as I had already been through this process in another vet's office with a little poodle years prior. However, quite some time had passed and I could still feel my little girl's heart racing, just pounding in her tiny chest. This lasted so long that my tears actually started clearing up and I began to get angry, asking Dr. Baldwin how much longer my girl was going to be suffering before she went to "sleep". The vet advised me it would be "soon", and that unfortunately, since it was a home euthanasia and not in the office, she was unable to administer an IV, which would have allowed for the process to be faster (and also, less painless I discovered much later).

I was horrified, but it was far too late at that point to do anything but wait, wait while my baby experienced unnecessarily prolonged cardiac distress. The in-home choice had been made to alleviate my baby's suffering, not add to it. I will NEVER make this mistake again, and I pray that anyone who values their pet's comfort level will thoroughly question their vet of choice for in-home euthanasia before allowing them anywhere near their loved one.

.. I only added the second star in my rating because Dr. Baldwin's bedside manner was quite lovely. However, her choice of medical process warrants a -5 star rating.

He explained everything he was going to do and what to expect in great detail. We were given all the time we needed to express our love and say goodbye to our Dublin.
