We cannot recommend Lap of Love enough to any pet parent going through the heartbreak of letting go of their beloved pet. The entire experience, from the moment we made the call to the gentle departure of our kitty, was handled with such compassion and care.

Dr. Juliana Cafiero was our vet, and she is truly an amazing veterinarian and person. She took the time to explain the science behind our decision, helping us understand why it was the right choice for our kitty. Dr. Juliana guided us through the process of giving our pet this final gift with immense compassion, making an incredibly difficult time so much more bearable.

Even though the price is not cheap, we believe it was worth every penny. The peace of mind, the gentle passing of our kitty in the comfort of our home, and the respectful care taken as they prepared to transport her were priceless. Everything was done with the utmost sensitivity and grace. We are so grateful for Dr. Juliana and the entire team at Lap of Love for providing this service. It was a beautiful, gentle farewell, and we are thankful to have had such caring support during this time.

After receiving the devastating news from our veterinary team that there was nothing more we could do for our darling cat Legg, I called Lap of Love. As soon as they picked up the phone, I felt heard, seen, and served. I'm sure it was difficult for the call-taker (I believe her name was Anna) to extract information from me as I was crying profusely, but she was so very patient and kind. She confirmed everything with me to make sure it was correct. She expressed her sympathy with the situation and I know that she was genuine. She helped me arrange the appointment for my ancient old lady kitty Legg with such compassion and patience, and then it was time to wait for the appointment.

Dr. Sheena Maynard arrived the next day to our home. She was immediately comforting and sympathetic, and I felt like I had known her for years. She came gently into Legg's room with me and was so careful and kind. Dr. Sheena listened to me talk about Legg while she set up everything and made us comfortable in our own surroundings. She then explained everything to us for every step of the way. She let me know what she was going to do, what Legg would do, what she needed me to do. She guided us through it all with such professionalism and care.

I truly believe that the guidance and help we received in those few days from Lap of Love and Dr. Sheena saved me from spiraling into a grief that I could not bear. They made it possible for Legg's passing to be one of peace and comfort, allowing her to be in her own home, on her own blanket, in her familiar surroundings, and in my arms, rather than a cold and sterile vet's office with strangers.

After the procedure, Dr. Sheena lovingly placed Legg into a basket and covered her with a beautiful blanket. She carried her to her vehicle with reverence and dignity.

Afterward, I received emails from both Dr. Sheena and the crematory operator, offering sympathy, giving me updates and expected timelines, and just checking on me. I was never left with any questions as to what may or may not happen through the process. I was able to receive Legg's ashes and urn right before Thanksgiving, so she was back home with me for the holidays.

I am so grateful and thankful to Lap of Love and Dr. Sheena and Anna for their patience, guidance, compassion, sympathy, professionalism, and dignity. If you are wondering if you should contact them, then please take my recommendation as your "yes." You will not regret having them by your side during the most difficult time of pet ownership.

Our 15 yr old cur dog stopped eating and after a vet visit we found our old girl was in kidney failure. We decided to call lap of love to help our family. They were so easy to talk to when we called and they scheduled us quickly that day which is exactly what we wanted.

Dr. Julie was so kind and patient with our family. It was a very sad day saying goodbye to our beloved Karma but we are thankful to of had the option to say our goodbyes in a peaceful way and allow her to be in her home, the place she loved the most. Thank you for providing this service and being great at what you do! We are grateful for lap of love ❤️

Dr. Juliana made the passing of one of my "boys" survivable. She was truly fantastic and although I hope it's a long time before I'm dealing with that painful decision again, I hope she is still doing this kind of work. Losing our dog Griffin came very suddenly, though not entirely unexpected. We miss our sweet boy so very dearly. Our vet recommended Dr. Sheena Maynard and we feel blessed she came to our home that evening. She provided Griffin and us with her calm, professional and compassionate care. Dr. Sheena helped Griffin pass gently and peacefully. We felt comfort in holding him and seeing him pain-free in his final moments with us. Thank you, Dr. Sheena for the time you spent transitioning Griffin after 17 special years with us. We have replayed each step and while we struggle with grief we can’t think of a better way to have said that last goodbye. We cherish the respectful and dignified treatment afterward placing our sweet boy on a soft padding in a woven basket and covering him with a blanket as if he was asleep. A heartfelt thank you from Marc and Rita.

We opted for private cremation by Pet Angel. This was also facilitated by Lap of Love. Every step was well organized and happened exactly as described which was so helpful as we were so numb afterward. Pet Angel sent Griffin’s remains to our veterinarian’s office where we picked him up in a beautiful hand-carved wood urn. There are many details … The correct spelling of his name, each item having been marked with a matching barcode and his name, the cremation certificate, a name tag for his urn, the dark-blue velvet satchel, and more… Each has put us at peace that our little companion of 17 years was treated well before his return to us. Knowing this has been helpful during this heartbreaking time. Thank you to the Pet Angel team!

Appointment process was easy. Our dog was very defensive towards strangers but Dr Sheena was great and made the experience good, she was very caring. It was nice to be able to say goodbye in the comfort of our home.
