I found Modern Leather Goods in my search for a repair partner for Briggs & Riley in the NYC area. My carry-on lost a wheel in transit. They were able to fit me in same day, affix a brand new wheel, all within 15 min and at no charge thanks to the Briggs & Riley lifetime warrantee. Highly recommend!

Would not recommend this business for non-warranty Kate Spade repair though they are an official repair center. I have reached out to them twice via email about a mail-in job that was not completed as we had discussed on the phone and they have not replied to either email.

The issue: My purse was missing one rivet and they called me after receiving it because the replacement piece was out of stock. We discussed during the call that they would replace both rivets on that side so they would match each other, but they only took care of the missing one and it is a different color and size than the other. I am not usually exceedingly picky but it does not look good, especially considering that this work cost $90 plus $30 return shipping.

Definitely 5 starts to the service, professionalism and quick repair of Modern Leather Goods. I was on my way to the airport, and the handle snapped for my lovely Victorinox carry on luggage. I took it to Modern Leather Goods yesterday, and honestly, 10 minutes later, it was fixed. I was so shocked, I asked the gentleman if he was for real. Excellent service, rapid speed, and no questions asked whatsoever!! Fantastic job, and highly recommended. Here's the before and after

1000% recommend for their quick and quality suitcase repair. Usually you can wait and/or come back shortly. All repairs done same day and note that they charge storage fee if you fail to come back for your item that day. I have had the wheels and 2 different zipper systems replaced over the years (20,+) on the same case with no regrets. Please bring cash because they pass on cc processing fee if you pay with card. They also take PayPal. They are on the south side of the street and once in the lobby take the (slow) elevators to 4th FL.

Absolutely Amazing Work!!!! I ruined a vintage Ralph Lauren embroidered leather shirt attempting to get a grease stain out. Never try to clean leather yourself! I did research online and found Modern Leather. I had a trip to NYC scheduled and brought the shirt to see if Tony could help. In 24 hours he re-dyed and blended the dye in the damaged area. Tony is a super nice guy who is proud of doing his job well. I’m going to send any leather for cleaning or repair to Tony. Every time!

Upon arriving, I was greeted by Tony, who immediately turned his attention to providing me assistance. With a quick once-over, Tony confirmed my luggage wasn’t in need of repair; instead, I’d inadvertently activated a wheel lock that I was previously unaware of. I’m beyond thankful for the service and hospitality from the team at Modern Leather Goods. Of note: Another customer was ahead of me as I was waiting to be seen. His repair of two rather large pieces of luggage was also swiftly completed, and he expressed his sincere appreciation for the speedy service. I have been coming here for years. They have repaired luggage, leather bags, and coats both leather and wool (replaced the zipper) and the work has always been first rate. This is the only place I would go for repairs.

They have always been very honest. I had one leather bag that had sentimental value and was in bad shape. They told me that the repair would be very expensive and the bag would not look like new. They suggested that I take some time to think about it.
