My friend goes here with her dog & talked highly of the vet & staff. I was having trouble getting appts at my old vet so I switched & really happy I did. So happy with Dr Josan & his staff. Dr Josan is so sympathetic, kind hearted & knowledgeable, I really trust him with my pets. So far he’s treated one of my cats & did surgery on my dog which went really well. He was able to get a speedy lab result also which I was grateful for since I was so nervous about result. This is the first vet office my dog will lay down in & that’s saying a lot! She’s very anxious & doesn’t like noise but she’s really comfortable here. I told another friend about Dr Josan & she switched from Standiford Vet & brings her cat here too. She’s very happy with the service she’s received too. Thank you Modesto Family Pet!

I have been taking my cat to be treated there and he was very sick. Every time I went in the “vet techs” or assistants have not been friendly. I will say I did love my vet he was very compassionate and nice. I went to take my kitty to get put down because he wasn’t doing good. Well the vet told me I could stay in the room the whole time as long as I hold him tight because my cat only likes me and was a very stressed out guy. I have had my cat since I was 16 and I am 28 now he was with me every day and I just wanted his last few moments not to be stressful that’s all I wanted and the assistants/tech was extremely rude no compassion on her face at all and said that wasn’t possible to stay in the room because I could get hurt. I expressed that I do not care if I get hurt my cats last moments are not going to be in the back stressed out with this stranger. Well eventually she let me be in there while she sedated him but then took him in the back for 10 minutes to put the catheter which I felt I had no choice. I was already not happy she took him back there sedated because i did not want him leaving me until he was gone she comes back in and I had my arms out to take him and she just sets him on the table while I’m left to try to pick up his sedated body. The vet finally came in and had compassion and was very nice. But the vet tech made me feel very awful in a time that was already traumatic for me. And Ifeel like my poor babies last moments were stressful and awful. So I will not be returning and l have decided to take my dog elsewhere.

I have been going to this vet for several years. This is my favorite vet of all the places I have been to. He is compassionate and you can tell he truly cares about your pet. Now that they opened the Pelandale site, it's even closer to my home and Saturday visits are a plus.

I've had the opportunity to visit several veterinarian care centers, but this one truly stands out due to its exceptional staff who prioritize my dog's well-being. The facility itself is well-maintained and clean, and what's even more impressive is that their medicine prices are lower than what I typically order from Chewy.

If I could give 0 stars I would brought my dog here once no issue, brought her back for the same thing about 6 months later. (Anal glands) and they couldn’t express them because my dog was too strong and there’s no male on staff. This was the first thing I was told. When asked how come she was able to get it done in November and not now the dr said she’s assuming it’s because they had a male on staff and it’s only females right now. When I asked if I could help because I can control my dog. They said sure . But they still think it won’t work. After they got one expressed my dog was clearly upset. I got her under control. And they were able to express the other. Afterward the lady doing so began to tell me I’m traumatizing my dog. Well how would I have known she’s traumatized she’s had this done here before she said well she’s already traumatized and needed sedation I said I couldn’t afford that and if she’s had it done once she could do it again, like you guys here at this vet already did it once and no one once recommended sedation and now you want to tell me I’m traumatizing my dog because I’m asking for her to get her anal glands expressed which she has had multiple times and now this time she’s traumatized, and now she needs sedation and now ur telling me all these things but how would I have known this?!? This is the first time anyone has spoke about sedation and she’s had this done like 8 times so how about the staff here learn how to talk and respectfully educate people before cussing them out cause all that does is make you guy lose customers
