We and so many animals are fortunate to have Dr. Stewart and her team at Mount Carmel Veterinary Hospital. They have always gone above and beyond to help care for our pets and have been especially accommodating in tough situations, helping animals in distress. Whether direct care, advice or connecting us to other resources, they are always looking for ways to help. We are beyond grateful for Dr. Stewart, her team, and everything she does to care for all animals. Thank you for all you do for us, our pets and those less fortunate furry friends who need help the most!

I have decided to finally speak out about this vet hospital. Firstly, their customer service reps are very rude. Secondly, I'm absolutely convinced that with today's medicine my pet would have lived a longer life. The reason I'm speaking out is because when I switched vets and my other pet was diagnosed with cancer the vet office has been incredible with caring for her and it's going on two yrs. I know the inevitable will happen, but the two yrs I have had her in my life have been precious. I needed to finally get this off my chest and stop blaming myself for what happened to my pet. Dr Stewart and her staff can respond in any way they please, but it doesn't change the fact that I lost my fur baby too early.

Dr. Stewart and her staff goes above and BEYOND for their patients. Dr. Stewart is extremely knowledgeable about veterinarian medicine and answers any questions I have in detail. Herself and her staff have such a love for animals of all kinds. Her technicians are so caring and her reception staff is always willing to help in any way they can. I will always use and recommend this practice!

Brought my cat here a month ago because he scratched his eye. I was really lucky that there was an appointment available at Mount Carmel Vet Hospital. At first, I was weary that they may not be good hence the opening while all other vets are fully booked. To my surprise, I had a great experience here! The vet was very patient in answering all my questions. She was very knowledgeable and didn't push for any extra services. Garfield's eye is now healed! Really appreciate the vet we saw and I would highly recommend others to this vet.

Dr. Stewart's intuition about an animal's condition is truly remarkable, and her compassionate approach was a tremendous comfort when we had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to our beloved Shey. Coping with the loss has been incredibly challenging, but Dr. Stewart's genuine care shone through every step of the way.

If I could I would give this vet a ZERO star review. I took my dog here because he was showing signs of extreme cough, shortness of breath and fever. She gave him no medication, no ivy, no breathing treatment, no alternative care. I am showing a picture of him below. I am no vet but my dog needed care and did not receive it. My dog ended up passing.

I also met another person who also had an altercation and left this vet. Please, do not take your dog here!

I have been bringing my dogs to the Mount Carmel Veterinary Hospital since I moved to Hamden in 2011. I wish I could rate them higher than 5 Stars! They have supported me through the years with general veterinary care ~ through emergencies and through major surgical procedures. Over the years Dr. Stewart, and Dr. William Farrell and their skilled clinical staff have cared for my dogs ~ Rusty and Dakota until their passing in 2016 and 2017 ~ and now for my new family members ~ Nellie and Ninja Belle. I wouldn’t trust my dogs’ care to anyone else!
