We arrived during "closed" hours but that was okay; we were only there for the animal display OUTSIDE the hospital. I helped my daughter move from Cincinnati, OH to Des Moines, IA and during the long drive there, we wanted to see some of what we called "quirky Americana". This place was one of many that we found between here and there. Since my daughter LOVES animals, we thought this would be a perfect stop for a few pictures. The rolling hills surrounding the animals were an added bonus.

Nord Animal Hospital, plus the entire family and staff are a combination of old world Doctors/Vets care and new world technology. We couldn't be more pleased. The staff and doctor were very friendly and helpful. My cat was sick and they got me an appointment right away. They were thorough but didn't perform anything unnecessary. Perfect vet experience, and adorable cows!

First, I didn't get to go back with my dog. So, I guess he got his shots... I certainly paid for them. And I already knew my dog was a little heavy, but he has maintained his weight for 3 years. He is a stocky boy. Despite that, they told me he needs to lose 10 pounds. :-/ I didn't buy any special dog food from them because I didn't want to spend even more money. I'll find something more affordable elsewhere. All in all, they were okay but not what I was hoping for.

Nord Vet has been exceptionally reliable and helpful for our pup. Dr. Nord is firm, honest, and understanding. His staff has reassured this worried momma in productive ways, but has also given clear instructions when needed. Our pup has been a client for five years and is so excited to go every time we do. A sincere thank you to a doctor and staff that takes time to explain things, and to go above and beyond when the circumstance is needed.

Dr. Nord is the only vet that I'll trust with any of my animals. He is someone who is extremely honest and puts the health and safety of your animals first so much so that he takes the time to teach you the "why" behind what he recommends.
