These folks that have this job, I just can’t imagine doing the things you have to do.

On a more positive note, I have adopted 2 pups from here over the last 20 years, my first was in 2003 and was an adult red chow mix (Elmo) he has since crossed the rainbow bridge.

Recently I went up to look at some adorable yellow lab pups, my son and I went, we were helped as soon as we walked in the door. We were escorted back to the pups and OMG, I wanted them all,however, there was a baby in the spot next to them that really wanted to come home with us! Knowing little pups are easy to adopt out, I wanted to meet the next door guy, his name was Blue and he is a lab mix ❤️

Didn’t take long, they gave us a bag of treats and put him in a slip lead, he was jumping and being obnoxious and eating treats, absolutely the cutest! It sure didn’t take long for the paperwork and the ID requirements were simple for me, we were met out front with our new baby dog and we knew they were happy he got his chance! These folks are awesome, they care and I dont think there is much more you can ask for!

This is a great animal shelter and much better than any others around. The employees are all very friendly, they keep the kennels clean, take care of the animals, and truly care about finding those all pets good homes. Their adoption fees are very reasonable too.There are many reasons why NLR Animal Shelter has always been our favorite.

The lady on the phone was very rude and started yelling at me when I was just trying to explain to her that I needed someone to pick up an animal for me. The whole situation was very frustrating because she just had a really big attitude and continue to yell at me on the phone so I just hung up a horrible experience.

Extremely unprofessional employees who think they know a lot, when in fact they are very uneducated and do not care about their jobs. I will NEVER go in this hellish place again, and do not recommend it to anyone. They are an embarrassment to our city. As an agency, this place should be shut down.

my wife's cat had passed away and they were very glad to see us adopt another kitty from them and save a Life they were very professional there and very courteous any adoption was free due to the Christmas we are really enjoying our new friend

I have adopted 4 dogs from here, yet when I found two puppies wandering the streets the lady at the front desk implied that I drove all the way there just to dump them on them, I live over an hour away, why would I waste my time and gas just to drive all the way there to dump puppies on them I was passing through little rock when I saw the dogs and just wanted to help, not be offended however I will say the animal control office that came to pick the dog up was very friendly and fast.

Called to see if they had any room to take in a cat, and he informed me that they could only take in animals within city limit of NLR so I’d have to contact someone within my “jurisdiction”. Really? It’s a freaking cat. It shouldn’t matter where I am located
