I’m a little late in writing this review but, nonetheless, I am eager to share my experience with Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists.

A few months ago, my dog swallowed something questionable. It was in the evening hours, so I immediately freaked out & called this vet hospital.

Firstly, they were so incredibly helpful on the phone. Regardless, I took him in to be examined. I had left in such a state of panic that I neglected to grab his leash & harness (he’s an 80lb golden retriever). When I got there, the staff so graciously came outside to help me bring him in.

My dog was not being easy that day, he kept pulling me & was making it so incredibly difficult to fill out the paperwork. But the staff came around from behind the desk & completely took him off of my hands so as to reduce both me & my dog’s panic & anxiety.

Soon the vet came & took him back. After examining him & finding no issues, they sent me on my way with the smallest vet bill I’ve ever had in my life. I cannot express the appreciation I have for this clinic. Whoever was there to witness the state that my dog & I were in that day would understand why I have such gratitude towards OK Vet Specialists.

Thank you guys so much for being so kind & caring. You have no idea how much your help mattered that day. I hope I don’t ever have to do this again, but if there was ever again an issue with my dog, I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else besides OK Vet Specialists. Once again, thank you guys!

I just adopted a rescue dog and she had just been spayed so her stitches were still in she managed to tear them out very fast Sunday morning, I didn’t know what to do except take her to Oklahoma veterinarian specialist. It cost me 550.00 to get her stitch back up . Just seems to me that they take advantage of desperation. I could have taken her home with a hole in her stomach and wait to see another veterinarian, but she probably would’ve died. I am not a rich person I just wanted to give a loving home to a sweet dog . It’s sad A place like this takes advantage of people in a desperate situation.

Thankfully, I’ve never needed an emergency veterinary service for my dogs before but this weekend, our fierce Jack Russell Terrier named Al decided it was time to experience the ER.

We literally just moved to the state of Oklahoma two weeks ago, so when Al started experiencing seizure-like symptoms in the middle of the night, we were terrified. We don’t even have a primary vet here yet. Heck, we don’t even know how to go anywhere yet without GPS instructions. We did a quick, frantic Google search which led us to Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists.

We arrived around 4:00am on Saturday morning, and everyone was curious to listen, upfront about wait times and pricing, and most importantly, compassionate.

Our dog had to stay for around 28 total hours with an IV for observation, and they called with regular updates, and encouraged me to call (if I wanted even more updates) and to visit anytime. We did visit our baby, and they were so accommodating by putting us in an exam room. Our other dog even got to come in to see how her brother was doing!

Obviously, needing emergency services is something everyone hopes they don’t have to go through, but in a time of desperate need, I couldn’t have asked for a more positive experience. I’m incredibly grateful for the 24/7 care that Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists provides… that’s not easy.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring for and loving Al this weekend! We’re so glad he’s back home with us now.

I had to do the hardest thing I’ve ever done, and euthanize a very young black kitten that I fell deeply in love with. The staff was very loving, gentle, and helpful. They gave me some strength when I felt at my weakest. I can tell the staff cares about their patients deeply and they know what they’re doing, which is so important especially when people show up having to experience anything like what I’m going through

I recently visited Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists and was disappointed with the overall experience. While I understand that running a business requires financial priorities, the focus on payment felt excessive and overshadowed the compassionate care I expected. The employees seemed over zealous with collecting payment than truly listening to my concerns and addressing my families needs. I believe they could greatly improve by listening more and speaking less, showing genuine empathy for both pets and their owners. After losing my sweet boy I was directed to a door that led to the parking lot when my family was still in the waiting room. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling more like a transaction than a valued client. Do better OVS.

OVS claims, “Our state-of-the-art emergency vet hospital is staffed 24/7 to ensure that your pet receives immediate attention in any crisis.” We arrived at 5 AM one recent morning and received pain meds and an assessment from the lone doc on duty, but the doctor who could run the ultrasound (to actually diagnose my dog) didn’t report for work for another 4+ hours, and the surgeon’s shift started 9 hours after my dog’s admission. My dog had an intestinal blockage (a time-sensitive emergency that is relatively common amongst dogs), but he wasn’t diagnosed for 4+ hours or taken to surgery for many more. He didn’t make it, and I was charged more than 3k upon his passing, including several premium “emergency” fees, despite having to wait a whole shift change for a doctor who could diagnose and treat serious conditions or trauma.

Our boy, Garry, wouldn’t be here today without Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists. On Tuesday night, our Great Dane developed bloat and subsequently a twisted stomach - which can be fatal if not treated quickly enough. We called our local vet and they told us that we needed to get them to OVS as soon as possible as they thought the same thing that we did. We had him in the door and they had done an x-ray right away and had confirmed our fears. Know that, when you come here, they are going to tell you how much it’s going to cost and it’s not cheap. It is an emergency vet. Anything that you have done on a routine basis is always less expensive. Within 30 minutes of walking in the door they had already taken Garry back and started sedation for his surgery. We had several staff members come out and update us while he was in surgery. They untwisted his stomach, and tacked it back down, so hopefully this won’t happen again. They kept him overnight, and he did well, and we got to take him home the next day. When we came to him the next day, they refunded us a significant amount of the money that we paid upfront, which was, not only impressive but also a blessing. Please remember when you read these reviews that an emergency vet is just that and it’s going to be significantly more expensive to take care of your baby because they are there at the times that your vet can’t be. We are so thankful for Oklahoma veterinary specialists.

Went in with my mom and her fur baby... It was close to 11p.m., she got her checked in, we waited and waited, they finally came out and got her, we waited some more, then they called us back to the room. We waited in there for a bit before the doctor came in and my mom explained everything to her, she left, another lady came in and explained prices, etc.. Then we were told we need to pay before anything can be done. So my mom paid the $713.. they said we can go get something to drink or just hangout. So we left to go get something to drink and a snack... Got back; sit in the car for a little bit, finally went in and sit and waited and waited, it was after 2am at this point, a guy came to tell us they haven't even gotten to her yet, that it's still gonna be a little longer, that we can go home and they would call when she was ready. We explained we live a hour away, so leaving isn't an option... because that just wouldn't make sense. It was really cold in the waiting area, so we went out to the car and waited and waited, the doctor finally called after 3am sometime and said xray didnt show anything that she could see, and the blood test came back good. That she was going to give her a nausea shot and some fluids, that the front desk will get a hold of her... so we waited some more, finally someone from the front desk called saying they undercharged her... So she went in to pay another $113 for the shot and fluids. And then we then waited and waited some more, then the guy said he would go check on her and after a bit of being gone, he brought her fur baby back out to her...

All that being said... 7 hours yall! 7 hours we spent there waiting and waiting... Sad thing is we wasn't the only ones, some took their animals and left and some just left their animals there! I'M SORRY, BUT NEVER AGAIN!
