I'm a first time visitor to Old Capital Vet. I had an issue that was time sensitive; my step daughter had to give up one of her cats because she didn't get him put on the lease.
She hadn't gotten him fixed, but he was still young enough he hadn't started spray marking yet. Instead of giving him up to a shelter, I decided to take him in but needed to get him neutered before he had the urge to mark. (I also have three exclusively indoor females that weren't fixed yet).
Normally I would try for an appointment with the SNIP Clinic in Louisville, but that can take a month to get in.
Being relatively new to the Corydon area, I called around to get pricing on just a neuter for kitties. Old Capital was the most reasonable, and they also didn't require a prescreening visit to establish a patient record (which would have cost more than I have).
Their cost for a neutering + sending Aslan home with extra pain meds was about the same cost as going to the SNIP Clinic AND they accept the Harrison County spay/neuter vouchers.
The staff there are pleasant to talk to and Aslan has been doing well after his surgery so far.

I've lived in Corydon for eight years but always drove my pets to a veterinary clinic about 45 minutes away to see a vet that I had been using for a very long time. My cat was under veterinary care when I went into labor. While I was in the hospital his health deteriorated even more. My husband and vet tried a last ditch treatment to see if my beloved cat would snap out of it. My husband warned me that it may be time and I may have to make a decision. The day I came home from the hospital and saw my fur baby I knew he was ready to go. Our regular vet was too far away, just giving birth and having a breastfed newborn, a 1.5 hour car trip was out of the question and I wanted to hold my fur baby when he crossed that rainbow bridge. I called several vets in the area and explained my situation ans basically begged them to help me. Old Capital said yes without hesitation. When they should have been going home for the day, they greeted me at the door and comforted me through the entire process of saying goodbye to my best friend of 13 years. Their kindness and generosity is something I'll never forget and I'll be using them in the future.

They got my little Jak in on very short notice and they were great with him. Apparently, he has an extreme fear of vets, and they were very patient and accommodating. Pricing is very reasonable. I will be bringing the rest of the zoo here! Highly recommend 🙂

My dog nova, broke her Leg. They immediately got her in there, and they were actually recommended by RidgeView vet. &, they told me that he does it for the love of animals not for money. Its so true. They are my main vet now for sure. I would highly recommend this vet for anything. He is awesome. They care about your animals, and you. & they are good prices as well, not way over priced!

I just want to say how thankful I am for finding such a wonderful veterinary hospital the staff is so friendly and welcoming and helpful it makes you feel like you are apart of their family. They truly care about your pets and provide amazing services and take time to talk to you and explain everything in detail so I understand what is going on with my pets. I highly recommend coming here and experiencing what I have experienced and meeting the wonderful people at the Old Capital Veterinary Hospital.

I would say that the place was competent. Although I wasn't even sure I was speaking to the vet since he never introduced himself to me. Front desk was very professional very clean inside as well
