My experience at the pet dentist has been the worst experience to date at ANY business I have visited. My dog’s consultation was on 8/27/24 where I was quoted $4,789.00-$8,493.87. The price is very steep but I was ready and willing to pay if it meant that my dog’s teeth would finally be taken care of. My dog is a 10 year old Chihuahua that has had seizures since he was 2 years old. I have been trying for the past 2 years to get him this procedure, however, we have run into multiple health issues and other surgeons at different hospitals we’re not willing to perform surgery on him because it was too much of a risk. When we visited the pet dentist on 8/27, we were assured that their doctors are very well trained in what they do and it made me feel confident bringing my dog to have his teeth cleaned/pulled as I was told they handle lots of pets that are epileptic and elderly. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when Hurricane Milton hit; I called the office to originally cancel the appointment but was asked if I wanted to reschedule and they would honor the blood work that was done 30 days prior. I agreed to reschedule to 11/11/24 and told them I would let them know if anything changes. Just two days ago, 11/5/24, I took my dog to his primary vet as he was throwing up and would not eat any of his food. Today, 11/7/24, my dog is still sick and has not shown much sign of improvement, therefore, I called The pet dentist to cancel the appointment as I was advised previously that they could not operate on an animal if they were sick. I spoke with Wendy at the Wesley Chapel location, and she stated that she was not sure if they were able to give me my $250 deposit back as I was calling “too late” to cancel the appointment even though I was still within the two business day timeframe. Wendy stated that she did not even know that the form said two business days and said she couldn’t find the form in my dog’s records. Good thing I keep all of my paperwork.

Wendy transferred me to Tammy who is supposedly the manger, where the conversation only got worse. As soon as Tammy picked up the phone she immediately started telling me why they could not issue my refund for my deposit. I explained that I signed a “surgical reservation fee” form at their office on 8/27/24 at the first appointment and I was then asked if I know what “working business hours are”. Tammy stated “Ms. Noriega, when you visit a bank, what are their working business hours?” I said “Please do not talk to me like that as I know what business days and business hours are. Your letter that I signed mentions nothing about business hours, only two business days (Monday through Friday)” which I have attached to this review. I then explained to Tammy that my dog was at the vet two days ago throwing up and that he was on medication, to which she replied “exactly then why didn’t you call us on Monday when you knew he was sick?” Two days ago was Tuesday, not Monday. Regardless of how many days ago he was at the vet, I was waiting to see if my dog got any better so we could proceed with his surgery on Monday 11/11/24. After I explained that to Tammy, she LAUGHED IN MY FACE WHILE I WAS CRYING TELLING HER THAT MY DOG IS ILL. I asked her if she really just laughed in my face and she admitted that she was wrong and should not have done that. After she apologized, she continued her nasty attitude with me. I asked to speak with her manger and I was told that no one was available and that if I needed to make a complaint I could email them. She didn’t even give me a name of a higher up manger or owner. I am totally disgusted with the treatment that I have just endured from Tammy. She talked down on me like I was incompetent and laughed in my face when I was crying telling her that my dog was ill. I will NEVER recommend the pet dentist to anyone, and I will continue to spread the word about how unprofessional and insensitive this business is. How disgusting that this is what you do for a living, what you specialize in, and you’re the manager speaking to people that way.

Dr. Brown was absolutely amazing! She took great care of my baby Cheeto, and really made sure I understood the situation and all of my options. The most compassionate pet dentist we could've asked for ❤️ and best of all, my boy is cured of stomatitis!

The staff misread my cat's file multiple times in prep for his surgery tomorrow. Over the phone yesterday they said they had everything they needed, two weeks ago over the phone they also said they had everything they needed. They called at noon today and informed me that I have to leave work early today for a 4pm appointment at my vet (the day before his surgery and get a last minute appointment at my vet) to have additional bloodwork done that is needed for the procedure tomorrow. Not only is the staff's error resulting in me missing time at work unexpectedly, now I have unexpected blood work that I will have to pay for, and will have to traumatize my cat with an additional car ride. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience thus far.

Update: Called back to discuss the situation and my options with the office and the lady mockingly laughed at the fact that I had to leave work. I hope that laugh was worth the over $1,000 - $2,000 appointment I just canceled. This place doesn't care about me or my pet. How sad.

They were awesome. I was nervous when I got there, but they reviewed everything that would, or could be, done with my fur baby. They contacted me with updates and answered questions when I came to pick him up. Reviewed his medications and instructions after his surgery.

Brought both my cats here to have their teeth cleaned and a few removed. The staff and doctor's are great. They came highly recommended and I see why. They clearly care for your pets and are very good at communicating what they will be doing, why they do it and what to expect.

I cant say enough good things about the pet dentist, my dog went in with a cancer tumor in his mouth and had to have half of his bottom jaw removed. The doctor and his staff have been AMAZING through the whole process. Yes it may be pricey, but that shouldn't matter when it comes to your animals health and getting the best treatment around. I live almost two hours away and would make the trip again and again if needed.

I wish I could give 10+ stars...I would. From the first phone call the team at the Pet Dentist were amazing. I was on a time crunch due to another surgery that my dog needed to have. I wanted a second opinion beforehand. They got me in and took a look. Fast forward to a month later, I brought my dog to them to do a full checkup of her mouth. I wish I could remember everyone's name. Dr. Smithson, Wendy and everyone was just phenomenal every step of the way. Their goal is to preserve the teeth your animal has, not just remove them because it might be easier. I appreciate their 360 degree approach to care. Trust in the Pet Dentist and you won't be disappointed.
