Overall, I was satisfied with my visit here. The office was clean and the staff members were polite and prompt. I submitted an inquiry online to request an appointment and within a few hours I received a response with appointments available for the very next day. I brought my Pomeranian Conan in for his first visit and loved that they have you call before bringing your dog in to make sure your room is ready. He is very scared when we go new places and he was shaking from the sound of other dogs barking, but they were all patient with him. Dr. Huggins was very friendly and handled him incredibly well during his visit even though he was nervous. My only complaint would be that pricing is much higher than I anticipated, I was referred here and told the pricing wasn’t bad but it was double what I paid for my previous dog at a different vet.

after my cat was diagnosed last year with hyperthyroidism the clinic prescribed methimazole to equalize her levels and said we caught it earl so there is need to worry, every 3 months since she has been back for blood testing and every time they said she is good and to continue her dosage however they failed to educate us that kidney problems and failure is a huge common issue that happens when cats have hyperthyroidism. over the last year not one time during her visits did they mention this as a possibility and therefore when she started to get sick in oct they were completely surprised ordered 100s of dollars worth of tests to all come up negative yet she lost half her weight index lost most her fur and couldn't even use the bathroom. well she passed Monday Dec 3oth because of this vets negligence and I highly suggest you do not trust your animals lives with them as I did and now regret it. advocate for your pets because all this vet wants is to make a quick buck. this vet never has doctors on staff and forget about making an appointment after bankers hours the only vet there leaves at 4pm sharp doesn't matter. some techs there are absolutely great and patient while some would rather sedate a senior cat for blood than to allow their "mom" to hold them when that exact note is in the case file. ad to top it all off they received fax from WVRC that my cat had passed Monday night.... I get enough courage to call praire side to inform them of chicas passing and they said "yes they already knew we got the reports in" oh okay so no condolences call or email from her literal vet... just goes to show the hospitality of this place. don't take my word with a grain of salt ! save your pets and go anywhere else

First visit was memorable. Our little puppy was friendly and unafraid. He literally was comfortable, and took his shots like a big boy. . .After our free food and de-worming samples, we were comfy also to have found Prairie Side. Thanks Doc Allison for a smooth 1st impression.

The fact that I wasn’t initially referred to an eye specialist for my mastiff is ridiculous, as I’m looking back on what occurred. To only have one doctor on staff is negligent. To act like I was requesting some form of narcotic for my dog when she has been seen TWICE and was only offered an antibiotic which I had more of so I didn’t refill it right away is downright awful. I was never told about a follow up appointment during the second visit where the tech acted like she feared me because I was wearing a mask. God forbid people acknowledge a pandemic is still occurring. I just find this entire situation a waste of my time and my dog is still in pain who now risks going blind after I’ve paid over $300 to get her proper care. I will not be back whatsoever. I liked the service better in Franksville

Dr Allison is absolutely amazing as well as all the staff. Very inviting as well as informative. Explained a very serious matter to me as if she was teaching instead of telling. Trust them for sure.

My cat wasn't doing well and they got me in without an appointment. It was so nice that I didn't have to go to a emergency clinic. Dr Huggins is so sweet. I really felt we were in good hands in a difficult situation. She was so patient and kind. She explained things simple enough for me to understand them. I'm glad I found them.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. This vet was a joke and treated my family as if they didn’t know what they were talking about. Our family dog was brought in due to being very lethargic, not eating or drinking, and could barely stand up to go to the bathroom on her own at just six years old. The doctor proceeded to tell them that she is a golden retriever and that she will be fine soon because she is a golden retriever as he proceeded to call our girl dog, “he” the entire time. You would think a vet would know the difference between the animals genders and if nothing else, would care enough to read her chart, as we have been coming here for many years. (Who knows why) He also stated that he was sure of what was wrong with her and when the initial results came back, it had nothing to do with what he was so sure of; however, we suggested a possibility and he said that “dead is dead” and it did not matter what her actual diagnosis was. Labs were drawn and upon the vet saying that results would be complete by the next day, that was another lie. Our dog was lying on the floor dying and they said the results would be in by Monday and not to worry. He did not order the appropriate tests and by the time the other woman vet saw our dog, it was too late for these tests to be performed as she was put down that day. The vet (Ed Susmilch) was unprofessional, lacked sympathy, unhelpful, and ultimately resulted in our dog being put down because he did not do his job properly. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Stay far away!!
