We brought our dog in for biting through her lip. We all thought she would need to be sedated to get the tooth off her lip but the doctor and assistant were so calming to her, the doctor was able to just slide it off. They were wonderful and calming to me also. She’s doing great and I’m a very relieved mom! The pic isn’t gross but you can see the tip of her canine sticking out. The second one is her and her brother, hanging on the couch like nothing happened!

Awesome receptionist,nurses, and doctors!! I took my American Bulldog today and they answered all my questions and also treated my dog immediately when I told them I thought he had something stuck in his throat that was restricting him from breathing! They are awesome thank you all!!

Just moved to Grayslake and one of our dogs was up all night very sick. We took him in to Premier in the morning and from the second we walked in, I felt comfortable and cared for. From Sandy at the front desk to Julie the nurse, they treated my boy like he was family. Met with Dr. Heather who listened intently and let me ramble thru a very chaotic and stressful morning. She was great and took all the time I needed to explain! Dr. Heather is exactly who you want taking care of your pets. She’s amazing! Left him there for a couple of hours and Dr. Heather called with an update shortly after. She was very clear and honest in what she felt the next steps should be and what they suspected was going on. Long story short, our dog had to be transferred to a 24hr facility and Dr Heather gave me options, then facilitated the whole thing. I got updates throughout the day until I could get there to take him to the 24hr hospital. I never once felt ignored, or left out of the loop wondering, everyone there treated us like we had been patients forever. That’s the thing missing from a lot of places today. Communication and compassion. No one wants to go to the ER vet. The staff knows it’s high stress, not knowing what’s wrong, and a hard time but they respected me and really cared to make sure I was at ease. It boils down to trust. I TRUST everyone and Grayslake Premier. I can’t thank you guys enough and please know that even if it’s hard and sometimes thankless, don’t ever stop being exactly how you were with me and my dog. It matters. Thank you guys!!

When we arrived, my cat was immediately brought to the back and within minutes we met with the dr. She explained the situation and ordered bloodwork for which he required sedation. He was very well taken care of and we were able to bring him home on some medication for pain and a probiotic. The staff communicated well and were compassionate. Yes, it’s expensive but without emergency care he would have had to wait 2 more days for our vet to open. They do inform you of all costs up front.

Dr. Heather and her team are a friendly and professional group. They are thorough in their science and tender in their care, kindness and reassurance. They took great care of our sweet little Maggie (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) and she is now on the mend and happy again!

My sister took her cat here twice. The first time the doctor has stated they thought the cat had something toxic but seemed fine. The next day she came back as my sister went to the regular vet and they provided meds but that’s it. The meds made her have diarrhea and she still hasn’t drank water or ate. So my sister was obviously very concerned and came back to this veterinary since it’s an emergency. The doctor states she assumes she may have had something toxic or have a disease since the cat is not coordinated and has a low heart rate. My little sister is 18 and a student. She cannot afford the *ESTIMATED* $1400 vet bill they gave her with the needed tests. They brought up a care credit card and we said no. We’re not denying she needed the tests but ultimately decided to go somewhere else as it was too expensive and it was getting late since she was there since around 9:30-10. They urged her to go somewhere else as they closed soon. They state the exam fee is still $250 so we ask if they can give any fluids to hydrate the cat for peace of mind until we find another vet or clinic. The lady says the IV will take 1 hour and they close soon. It seemed like she doesn’t care or want to do it, even though she knows “it’s bad” if a cat hasn’t ate or drank anything for almost 3 days now. Why did my sister pay this exam fee? I would not recommend this vet as the whole time they just kept bringing up their care credit card and the nurses were very slow to answer questions. It seemed as if we were bothering them for asking them to do their job. No care was received at all. Overall very disappointed with this vet so this is why we are choosing to go somewhere else.

We took our 12 year old dog here as an emergency as she was having difficulty breathing. They took us right away after we were turned away at another vet. Dr. Heather Synder was terrific with our dog. She presented options to us and explained everything so that we would understand completely what we were facing. We opted to treat and finally got the answers that we were looking for. Unfortunately it turns out that our dog has cancer. Dr. Heather was empathetic and explained the things that we could do and was even honest enough to tell us what she would do if it was her dog. We couldn't have been more pleased with the service that our dog received. She even followed up personally a few days later to check in to see how our dog was and to provide the pathology report on what type of cancer she has and to go over it with me. She answered all of my questions in a way that I could understand and even offered to answer any more questions if they came up later. What ER Vet does this? I can't say enough good things about our experience and about Dr. Heather.

Went here one time about two years ago. They charged me roughly 500 dollars to give my cat oxygen and tried to have me put him down. He's sitting right next to me at the moment with asthma; which they somehow would have fixed with a 1000 dollar surgery. At least the dude at the front desk gave me advice to let him get some steam, so he's cool, but that vet can go back to collage.
