As a longtime volunteer I’ve enjoyed the rewards of assisting professional wildlife rehabbers caring for Florida wildlife, from orphaned to neglected and injured wildlife. It’s a very rewarding experience to assist in their care, participate in their rehabilitation and finally see their release back into the wild. PRWC is always looking for volunteers. Why not join us and leave your fingerprint on the conservation effort that keeps Florida wild? We could use your help. The hospital has some of the best wildlife rehabbers in the area and working side-by-side with them is a rewarding experience. I hope to see you there.

Great experience! Staff is very professional. I found a baby opossum and turned her over to them for care and treatment. You can actually track how the animal is doing and they give updates. Overall if I ever see an animal in need I'm taking it Here!!

They do their best to save the wildlife and give you a case number to follow up on the progress of your animal.

My feral cats outside grabbed a little bird & injured it. I took it down to their hospital in Punta Gorda. A lot closer than the actual Wildlife Center.

My vet suggested I take an injured (part of the Port Charlotte flock of wild parrots)Quaker parrot to this outfit. As I waited for someone to answer the door and older gentleman was loading heavy, lumpy black garbage bags into a truck apparently for disposal. Maybe I watch too many crime shows....tWhen someone came to the door she was initially unwilling to help a feral parrot as it was not technically a wild animal!!! When she came back out she informed me it would be euthanized due to it's injury. I volunteered to help birds recover. She informed me they only rehab mammals!!!! Their Web site is then super misleading! I looked it over to see it if I wanted to donate. uh NO! Seems very sketchy yet of affiliated with one of our biggest tourist draws.
