1 star to PT - who delayed my PT evaluation / start an unnecessary 4 weeks into the 2nd week of January knowing I have mobility limitations then "winter arrived" overall causing an unnecessary cumulative nearly 2 MONTH DELAY in my PT efforts. Had the evaluation been completed in an appropriate amount of time I would have had home exercises to work with when snowbound. I explained this in early December to deaf ears to be told "I've reserved you for me but there are holidays (in 2 weeks) then I have vacation." There were other experienced physical therapists with availability prior to this mess.
SO VERY FRUSTRATING.

Needless to say when winter thaws out I'm taking my PT orders elsewhere so my valid concerns are heard and not summarily dismissed with no regards whatsoever for patient feedback.

There's a reason not a single local provider I've asked had recommended this therapy department, now I see why. It is not the department as a whole unfortunately it's a reflection.

It was stated I was "reserved" because of my (mild) Lymphedema, that no one else was trained in Lymphedema therapy. My PT orders were not for Lymphedema Therapy nor was I seeking Lymphedema Therapy in fact I clearly explained Lymphedema Therapy is strictly CONTRAINDICATED at this time due to Deep Vein Thrombosis which should be very well known to anyone trained in Physical Therapy or Lymphedema Therapy. I also explained I had already established care with another Lymphedema Therapist at another facility and I would be returning to her program when appropriate. Instead I was informed none of her PTs would be able to "progress" me because "no one else is trained in Lymphedema." That's wild! In 3 decades with Lymphedema I've repeatedly experienced successful PT outcomes and not once was the PT specially trained - it's called everything they need to know about my conditions are included of the standard PT training program.

PS delaying patient care nearly 2 months is not "in the best interests of the patient" as I was also told.
