Have worked with Dr. Heidinger for many years with several of my animals cats and dogs. Also have boarded there on occasion. Dr. has only done the right thing for my pets. I trust him completely with my animals. I don't believe for one second anyone who says he has ever been rude, not possible, it is not his personality!!!!! The vet. techs have also been great. I cannot imagine anyone having a problem with any of them. They handle my animals always with care and take them out and play with them when boarded. They look like they really enjoy what they do. I would never hesitate to recommend this vet. There are other larger vet services in town but I prefer the intimacy of this group and I have run into somewhat abrupt and even rude services at some of the others. I am very happy with them and highly recommend!!

Have been coming here since 1990!!!!! Our dogs were always treated well and professionally! It feels like family in the best sense of the word. I would recommend it to anybody and everybody. We have NEVER had a problem with Dr. Heidinger and/or the staff! They have always been on call when needed.

My adult son JUST rescued a 10 month old yorkie. We had no medical knowledge of him, and after being with us for 7 days, he vomitted and became weak - unsteady on his feet and woozy. We live down the street, so we barged into the animal hospital and were immediately helped. They took our Yorkie in, and I called every 45 minutes and stopped in twice during an 8 hour period. I asked 100 questions. I was a complete nuisance but never once did they act like I was. They were kind, gracious and tolerant. Dr. Cliff and Mark asked that I check in the next day and they keep thanking ME. Odd, right? I found them to be exceptionally helpful. My dogs temperature was too low, and she was dehydrated. She was back to normal well within 24 hours. I am so insanely grateful.

Have been there 2 times now. I switched from another vet in Ridgefield that I had not had a good experience with. I had called my old vet To get my dog again because he had a very painful rash. It was nine in the morning and they couldn't see him until four, and they had at least four vets there . Dr heidinger got him in at 11am. Ridgefield animal hospital is a very small homey place, with a small group of workers that are all so nice and friendly. Mark at the front desk is wonderful, so helpful and nice. All the vet techs say hi, and are very friendly. Dr. Heidinger is great, very compassionate. Also I called a couple of times in between my visits, expecting to have them call me back, or talk to a vet tech, each and every time Dr heidinger himself got on the phone with me. I'm a bit neurotic when it comes to my dog, but we definitely found our new vet?.

I'm still floored about the rude and unprofessional treatment of the male receptionist. I called for a 2nd opinion appointment and wasn't going to share my current vet to which he replied that he was going to cancel the appointment and just hung up on me.
While I can't say anything about the professionalism of the vet, I would never set foot in this practice as the front office doesn't seem to care about a potential new customer and is borderline abusive on the phone.

Dr. Cliff Heidinger and the team at Ridgefield Animal Hospital are the best.
I have been bringing my cats and dogs to him since 1985.
I moved to another town 12 years ago, but I still bring my pets there.

Dr. Heidinger is caring and patient... with both his animal patients and with us owners!

He won't do unnecessary tests or procedures, and has a very down-to-earth approach when recommending treatment.

He's been a local institution in Ridgefield for a very long time.

The few emergencies I've had, they've always taken our little guys in right away and brought them back from the brink.

The rest of the team is great too - some that have been with him for years, and some high school or college students that help out - they all are very gentle with the animals. They are there because they love animals, and Dr. Heidinger loves mentoring them.

Mark, who keeps the operation humming, is so helpful and friendly too.
He's always got a kind word, and will work around your schedule whether it's an emergency or just a check-up.

They all know your name and your pets' names.
And his wife makes beautiful little catnip ornaments at Christmas - stop by and take one or two from the tree in the office!

A family owned business without the corporate feel. I wrote a tell-all book on human healthcare and could easily pen one veterinarian medicine. There is a healthy sense of caring and honesty here that is often missed at other offices. Highly recommend.
